I completed a Masters Degree just so someone might take my opinions seriously one day. Also writes about video games over at Critical Hit.

While it may have been a bit slow on the uptake, it appears that even Twitter is realising that reacting with a little heart to every tweet, be it contextually good or bad information, may send the wrong message. The popular social media platform is reportedly looking at ways to help users better express their feelings towards a tweet. Over the course of the last month, Twitter has been surveying it’s many, many users regarding what kind of responses they’d like to see implemented in the app. Each of these responses would have an associated emoji, akin to how Facebook…

If you ask us, Microsoft really got it right with Windows 10. Sure, there are issues here and there and the updates can be a little much but if you compare it to some of the company’s other operating systems (looking at you, Vista) it’s great at what it does. Yet that doesn’t mean Microsoft is happy to just leave it alone as the mega-corporation has announced that an update is planning on fixing a few bugs with Windows 10 as well as changing the look of certain features. In particular, the icons which look very… Well, they look like…

It’s no secret that Vumatel is a mammoth in the telecoms industry in South Africa. It’s the largest fibre provider and ISP in the country and its financial report for the last six months of 2020 prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt. The report, released by investment holding company Remgro, revealed that Vumatel managed to make R1.092 billion in the back half of 2020. That’s revenue growth of 43% which is truly staggering. Yet not all that surprising. That kind of growth makes sense given how the whole country was forced to live exclusively online during the months…

The PlayStation 5, or PS5 if you’re not a nerd, is Sony’s newest console and sets the standard for the “next-gen” experience. It’s universally loved… by the very small selection of people that could actually get their hands on the thing. Available stock has been a major issue for the PS5 since launch and even though Sony has confirmed that it would have most likely struggled to meet the demand even outside of a global pandemic, there was another factor that probably slowed down production: The semiconductor shortage. We’ve been running low of those essential little guys for a while…

While OnePlus might not be the easiest phone to get your hands on in South Africa (there are outlets that stock them, you might just need to wait a bit), the company still makes cool tech that you should still pay attention to. We’re not talking about one of its smartphones, but rather it’s newly unveiled smartwatch. The OnePlus Watch (you just know some executive was paid stacks to come up with that name) seems like a nifty little gadget that may compete handily with Apple and Samsung’s range of smartwatches. This wrist-mounted tool will be running an OS designed…

Huawei, while being predominately known for its Google-less handsets (whether they like that reputation or not), has been known to branch out into other realms of technology. Perhaps their most well-known venture is within its own take on wireless earbuds. The FreeBuds 4i is the latest iteration on Huawei’s design and from the sound of things (lol), these little buckaroos pack a rather satisfying punch. According to the press release sent out by Huawei this morning, the FreeBuds 4i come packed with a wide range of cool features that you’d expect to find in a set like these. We’re talking…

Folding things is a fun activity, don’t get us wrong. When you’re stuck in a meeting that could have been an email, it’s almost instinct to pick up a piece of paper and begin folding it… but if we could do that with our phones, that would be great. Folding phones are a thing of the past and they should stay that way, yet Samsung is determined to bring them back. The latest report is that the South Korean tech giant is busy developing a double-folding phone to go alongside it’s Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip devices. The report,…

Just last week we wrote up that Shoprite, in a bid to compete with the likes of Pick ‘n Pay, was launching its own mobile network. We didn’t have a window of release when we first wrote it up but expected it to come sooner rather than later. As it turns out, we were correct as Shoprite has officially announced that K’nect Mobile launches next month. So if you’re in desperate need of a sim card and don’t feel like dealing with any of the big ISPs, it might be worth taking a trip down to Shoprite in April to…

Black Panther is undeniably awesome. Over here at the Stuff offices, we held a brief debate as to who the best Avenger was and came to the conclusion that Black Panther is at least top three (Iron Man and Spider-Man fans will never quit). So it’s a good thing that T’Challa is the next playable character coming to Marvel’s Avengers, a video game that needs more than its fair share of awesome content to keep it at all relevant. Announced during a digital showcase held by Square Enix last night, developers Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal confirmed that the next big expansion…
