I completed a Masters Degree just so someone might take my opinions seriously one day. Also writes about video games over at Critical Hit.

How many screens are too many screens? According to Expanscape, the limit on screens is seven, which if you ask us feels excessive but also looks really cool. The prototype device, named the Aurora 7, looks like something out of a ’90s action movie starring Sylvester Stallone as some sort of time-travelling cop (you know the one). The actual body of the computer is a chunky black box with a back monitor, like any laptop, but it also features six other screens that bleed out from the back. WhatsApp hasn’t exactly been on a big winning streak this year. The Facebook-owned instant messaging app recently updated its terms and conditions that’ll require all users to share their data with Mark Zuckerberg, causing a mass exodus of users to competing apps like Signal and Telegram. Yet for those folks that stuck around, they’ll have a new update to look forward to that will… allow users to send muted videos. That doesn’t exactly seem like the feature that’s going to win everyone back but WhatsApp seems committed to bringing muted videos to the app. Following the update, you’ll now be…

Apple might cut production of the iPhone 12 Mini Despite the iPhone 12 Mini being one of the cutest (and most impressive for its size) smartphones on the market, that doesn't mean people want one. A supply chain analyst for JP Morgan, William Yang, has filed a recent investment note predicting that Apple might slash

It’s pretty wild that you spend so much money on an Apple device only to have the cable that’s meant to charge the thing fray like a cheap piece of plastic bought from the kiosk on the corner of your street. If a new patent is to be believed, Tim Cook is actually doing something about his company’s shoddy cables. The filed paperwork suggests that Apple is in the process of developing a “Cable with Variable Stiffness” which should hopefully eliminate the fraying that renders so many cables nearly unusable after a year. We can thank AppleInsider for picking up on the…

The inclusion of combat in a Bloober Team would be a pretty big step for the studio. Their previous games,…

It’s pretty weird how the modern camera phone design has become so uniform across brands. It makes sense given that it works well; having the main sensor sitting on the back panel, most often in the upper left corner of the device with a selfie camera on the front of the phone is both ergonomic and limits how intrusive the tech is on the eye. However, Oppo isn’t pleased with just using the designs that everyone’s used to. No, it intends to shake things up with a new patent that would see their smartphones ditch the visible camera altogether as…

A celebratory cheer was let loose around the Stuff offices when EA confirmed that it was properly remastering the original Mass Effect franchise last year. It’s one of our favourite games and knowing it’ll be playable on modern (console) hardware was a real treat. The project went fairly quiet in subsequent months but news released last night, alongside a bunch of screens and videos, showed off exactly how Bioware is fixing up some of the less well-aged elements of the games. To bring you up to speed, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition takes the three original games, Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 (Extended Cut) and neatly packages…
