We’ve been writing an awful lot about the PS5 recently but that’s because it’s all that people seem to want to talk about. The console has become a nightmare to find anywhere as seemingly every store, both online and brick and mortar, is completely sold out. Sony is aware of the problem and has issued a statement that consumers need not fret as the company is promising that more stock of the PS5 will be available for the holiday season. Hey, maybe your kids won’t be super disappointed on Christmas Day. That is, if you can get your pre-order in…

Take a trip back in time with me, back to that ancient unknowable era of 1980. Nintendo hadn’t yet released the original Nintendo Entertainment System. As a company, it was still trying to figure out what the toy market was looking for. Enter, the Game and Watch. A tiny handheld game console that played a very simple ball juggling game and displayed the time in the corner of its LCD screen. That’s… all it did. It was the 80’s and people didn’t really know where videogames would go from there but being able to take one around in their pocket?…

Listen, we know this is news you don’t want to hear but the truth really hurts. While many of you may know that local stock for the PlayStation 5 is scarce, we’re afraid that’s only a half-truth. Stock for Sony’s latest console isn’t just hard to come by… it’s impossible to find. There are currently zero PS5s available anywhere in the country. Nothing. Nada. Zip. So please stop emailing us! Stuff doesn’t sell consoles at the best of times and certainly not when there aren’t any available to anyone in the whole of South Africa. We even went and asked Sony SA…

Ah, Black Friday. The one day a year where capitalism feels good. Well, maybe it doesn’t feel good but it certainly allows everyone to put their qualms aside and pick up a great deal here and there. If you’re in the market for some Hisense products then we have some great news for you as the brand has just announced some of its notable Black Friday deals. There are some pretty sweet offers in the mix here, so we thought we’d share the good word and help you prepare for the Big Day of Consumerism. The biggest specials come in the…

You might not know this but Devil May Cry V kicks so much ass. It’s a game that’s as obsessed with making its characters look as cool as the player feels. There’s a certain level of wanton excess that goes hand-in-hand with the series; a fascination with over-the-top action pair with some quality melodrama. On paper, it shouldn’t work at all. Yet Devil May Cry leans into both facets, exuding an attitude of, “I know, so what?”. The fifth game in franchise goes even harder down the avenue, course-correcting from a rather tonally disparate reboot. The final result, as you probably already…

Google has launched a new way for it to gather data about its users and ensure that everyone is okay with the process. Or at least, they’re trying to make people okay with it. The newly launched Task Mate app asks users to complete simple tasks in exchange for actual money. Which sounds like a pretty poor value proposition for Google but, let’s be honest, if any company could give away money to non-employees for completing chores, it’s Google. Task Mate, which just launched in India for the time being (presumably to test strain on the app’s infrastructure), provides users…

Having been in the country for just over a year now, Vivo has partnered with MTN to launch the company’s most accessible phone to date. The Vivo Y1S has dropped in South Africa and is available through MTN and only MTN. If you’re in the market for a budget smartphone you should probably be paying attention as Vivo has claimed that the Y1S is one the most accessible in the country, which is a pretty bold claim when you take into account loads of other budget smartphones released in the last year. Still, let’s hear them out. If you’re interested…

When it was confirmed that the remake of Demon’s Souls was to be a launch title for the PlayStation 5, I’d admit that I was confused. You’d think that Sony would want to be put their best foot forward with their new console and launch with games that are… accessible. That’s why Spider-Man: Miles Morales was a great launch game (beyond just being an excellent game) yet Demon’s Souls is known as being the progenitor of one of the most impenetrable franchises in all of gaming. For those of you not in loop, Demon’s Souls acting as From Software’s blueprint of the Dark Souls series, arguably one of…

Twitter's Fleets are already broken. What a tragedy. You know Fleets? That new feature that Twitter rolled out last week? Yeah, apparently it's already bugged in the most inconvenient way possible. While they should function along the same lines as Instagram stories, staying visible for 24 hours before disappearing into the aether, it turns out

Not that we needed a reminder of how garbage mega-corporations are, YouTube just decided to refresh our memory once more. The video streaming service, which used to be a bastion for small time creatives looking to put their content out into the world, has updated it’s Terms of Service to specify that it has the right to run ads on smaller, growing channels. Seems like a great idea, right? Maybe help those channels grow with small amount of ad revenue? Well, that would be lovely but instead, YouTube is just being greedier than ever before as all money earned through those adverts…
