South Africa has made history, both by entering the FIFA Club World Cup for the first time — thanks to the Mamelodi Sundowns — as well as the team nabbing a very decisive win this morning, ensuring it’ll have more eyes on it by the time it’s ready to play against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, 21 June. To make it easier for Saffas, Hisense is offering its customers the chance to watch the entire tournament live, entirely for free.
You’ll need a VIDAA-equipped Hisense or Toshiba smart TV to take advantage, however. That decades-old Hisense TV still plaguing your guest room won’t cut it. Once you’ve got that, all you’ll need is a working email address and a password to get into DAZN, where all the remaining games are available to stream.
Bringing customers to their Hisenses
Typically, a subscription to DAZN would set you back R360/m, or R1,800 for the whole year. That is still the case if you’d like to check out DAZN’s other sports coverage, but if you’re only looking for a (free) way to watch the Club World Cup, this is your best bet. Assuming you have a Hisense or Toshiba Smart TV, of course.
“In addition to the live coverage, fans can access real-time stats, fixtures, team rankings, and even interactive prediction games, turning every match into an immersive home stadium experience, with their Hisense smart TV.”

Not only did the Mamelodi Sundowns provide South Africa’s first win in the tournament, but they also became the first African side to put a mark in the win column at this year’s Club World Cup. Expanding the scope beyond Africa, this evening will see two of the tournament’s favourites — Manchester City and Real Madrid — play against Wydad AC and Al Hilal, respectively.
