It was only a matter of time before we got South African pricing for the iPhone 11 and it’s turned up just in time to dent your ailing wallet. The base iPhone 11 officially starts at R15,000, while the iPhone 11 Pro is set to cost some R22,000. And, if you’re feeling particularly wealthy, you can snag an iPhone 11 Pro Max from R24,000.
Come on down
It’s never as simple as just the base price, though, is it? There are several storage versions of each of Apple’s three handsets, ranging from ‘just enough’ to ‘never carrying a flash drive again’. And those versions come at their own prices. The iPhone 11 has 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB versions, costing R15,000, R17,000, and R19,000 respectively.
The iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max have similar spacing, though there’s a 512GB model to play with too. Prices range up to an accountant-scaring R33,000 for the largest iPhone 11 Pro Max. If you’re after just the regular Pro, the buck stops at R30,000 for 512GB.
The iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max launch in South Africa from 27 September. You’ve got a week to decide whether the price is right. We suspect some have already made up their minds, others may be a little on the fence. We’re cautiously optimistic, but a little hands-on time will clear that up. That should be taking place soon, so stick around for updates.
