“It’s show time” seems to suggest that we’re looking at something television-related. Like a brand new video streaming service, perhaps? Certainly it’s more likely than a movie or theatre production announcement, which would be more likely to use the world ‘showtime’ on the announcement. In our completely unscientific assessment of the invitation (above), that is.

Apple’s scheduled an event for 25 March, and at it we’re expecting to see the company unveil both a subscription news service, Apple News, and a TV streaming service (name still to be confirmed/leaked).

Rumours of the new subscription services have been dropping like case-free smartphones, along with others that suggest we probably won’t see the highly-anticipated next-gen AirPods or the rumoured new iPad Mini revealed at the March event. Pity.

A bug was discovered in Apple’s FaceTime services yesterday evening and news of its existence has rocketed around the world. The bug allows members of a group FaceTime call to eavesdrop on what’s happening with other users — before those users have answered or even if they’ve declined the call. The bug is so easy to replicate for users of iOS 12.1 that Apple has taken group FaceTime offline for now while they work on a fix.
