In an official blog post, YouTube has announced that it’s rolling out a host of new parental controls for guardians of young viewers. The video-sharing giant explained that, over the last year, it had been working with guardians and experts in fields such as child development and digital literacy, to develop their parental controls in a way that protects children from coming into contact with harmful content whilst still satiating the curiosity of children who find they’ve exhausted the library of content on YouTube Kids. Twitter is reportedly working on a new feature that will automatically detect abusive content and users block them from users’ accounts. According to Endgadget, the social media Goliath showed off the feature in a pair of screenshots in its  2021 Analyst Day presentation. The feature will go as far as to, “…mute accounts that might be using insults, name-calling, strong language, or hateful remarks.” reports Endgadget. The feature will restrict an offending user’s ability to tweet at you for a week and also curb your exposure to their replies on other tweets. Love it or hate it, TikTok is massive, with an estimated 1.1 billion+ active monthly users, and has been downloaded over 2.6 billion times.
