I completed a Masters Degree just so someone might take my opinions seriously one day. Also writes about video games over at Critical Hit.

We’re not about to make fun of 5G, it’s honestly impressive to see how fast a wireless internet connection can be…when you’re able to find a location where there’s actually coverage. It’s still being rolled out in South Africa and while the areas that now support 5G are growing seemingly daily, it’s rare to find a device that actually, well… supports 5G. Fortunately, the Huawei P40 Lite 5G is now in the country and it won’t even cost the soul of your first born son. 5G for less than 10gs We’ve had the P40 Lite in the country for a…

Apparently Lollapalooza is a pretty rad event to attend. I would have no idea because it’s only ever been hosted in Chicago and I have zero interest in massive music festivals. The last time I attended one, I couldn’t find anywhere to charge my 3DS and play Pokemon amidst all those people shuffling to some poorly tuned musical performances. I’m much too boring for 24 years old, I think. Yet if there was ever a way to experience a foot-tapping, speaking pumping musical event, the comfort of your own home sounds pretty damn ideal. That’s the angle Lollapalooza is taking…

Don’t you miss listening to music with your friends? Sure, it’s easy to enjoy an album or new track by yourself but music should be shared, right? There’s something special about listening to your friend’s favourite songs, learning their likes and dislikes and then giving them recommendations. It’s how we expand our tastes and learn about artists and genres we may have missed entirely. Considering the world kind of ended a few months ago, it’s been tough to bridge that divide. That’s the story behind Spotify’s new remote party playlists which lets a whole gang of premium subscribers listen to a collective…

There’s something to be said about not reinventing the wheel. There’s a reason we still use them in an almost unaltered state since some clever caveman thought it would be a genius idea to sand down a rock in a very specific way. Sure, we’ve rebuilt and modernised, chopped and changed aspects but at its core, it’s still just…a wheel. I think that analogy rings true for Ghost of Tsushima, a game that sells itself more on visual flair and style than substance because at it’s core…it’s actually just more of the same. Mechanically solid, stylistically impressive and graphically competent, Ghost of Tsushima is happy to…

We get it, some of you aren’t total dorks like us. While you were getting home from work, cooking a healthy supper and maybe even having a relaxing bath to help unwind from a long day, we remained seated at our computers, waiting for Phil Spencer and The Gang to grace our YouTube players and tell us everything we can expect from Microsoft and the Xbox Series X. They didn’t didn’t disappoint either (well, they didn’t disappoint as much as we all expected), showing off a mix of high-profile, anticipated games and some smaller, indie gems that really stole in…

After having put dozens of hours into the Xbox 360’s Fable 2 and…less hours into Fable 3, it feels like we’ve been waiting ages to finally get back to Albion and weave our own adventure once again. Ten long years since then, and that dream will finally be a reality. And who will be the hero of our tale? Maybe it’s still a bit too early to get over-excited. We actually know very little about the upcoming fantasy RPG, simply titled Fable. It’s safe to say that Playground Games’ take on the iconic universe will most likely be a reboot of sorts, which…

It’s the one game Microsoft can always hurl at those Sony fans who get a little too boisterous. “Yes, you have The Last of Us…and Spider-Man…and Uncharted. BUT. Do ya’ll have Masterchief and his very good adventures on space rings? Ha, thought not.” Most of the series was massively popular but Halo 5 didn’t really hit as well with fans, meaning there’s a lot riding on the upcoming Halo: Infinite. Well, it’s the flagship title for the Xbox Series X. It’s been a long time since the game was first announced with very few concrete details as to what it’ll actually be.…

I read a lot of comic books. It’s something I’ve said before on this website and something I feel is worth reiterating for this review. Thing is, I’m very protective over my collection of novels, graphic or not, and I prefer to keep them in as decent a condition as possible. You know what super duper sucks? Reading something where someone’s bent the spine back or spilled some kind of sauce over the words or maybe even committed the cardinal offence: Dog-eared pages. Beyond those fears, reading has just become a lot tougher these days as books seemingly become bigger and wider,…

What are you doing, you absolute reckless barbarian? You need to be careful with those eyes! Do you have any idea how painful laser eye surgery is? You ought to be using dark mode as much as possible to reduce the strain staring at a lit screen all day places on your eyes. That goes double for those Google apps that require so much focused attention. We’re talking about Google Docs, for all those documents, Google Slides, for all those slides and Google Sheets for…Excel stuff, I guess. There are dark modes available for all these apps and you really…

We’re not exactly in a position to discuss the difficulties of living during lockdown because, all things considered, we’ve had it pretty easy. Working from home while writing for a website/magazine is surprisingly simple to settle into but for plenty of folks, it’s been a real challenge. It’s hard to imagine being a school student during lockdown not least of all because literally all your work is suddenly homework. The horror. Never before has an internet connection been so important to completing school work and it’s a luxury many younglings don’t really have access to. That’s why local ISP Vuma is…
