CD Projekt Red has given their AR RPG game, The Witcher: Monster Slayer, a release date in an announcement last last week. From 21 July, the game will be free on both iOS and Android. If you’re extra eager (and on Android) you can pre-register now on Google’s Play Store to get instant access to the game when it goes live and a starting sword that will give you extra XP on each kill. Set before the time of witchers, Monster Slayer will see players roam around the lands (the real ones) and fight the monsters (the fantasy ones) that run rampant. We wonder…

In one of the most brazen displays of irony we’ve seen this year, a hacker or group of hackers took it upon themselves to disrupt the Sundays of Apex Legend players everywhere with the hope that Titanfall gets some love too. When you hack because they hack… Reports from all over social media flooded in as Apex players were met with an in-game message that directed players to an external and very unofficial ‘save Titanfall’ webpage. After which, they could no longer queue for games. This went on for a few hours across pretty much every platform. Luckily, it didn’t take the Respawn…
In their promotional strategy for their much-anticipated sequel, Dying Light 2: Stay Human, Techland has opted to go a similar route that Cyberpunk 2077 went with their episodic show Dying 2 Know. The show features gameplay development, behind-the-scenes sneak peaks, interviews with some of the developers and sometimes, a new trailer. Following the success Episode 1 received, Episode 2 looks to capitalise on that, this time with a focus on the monsters and zombies you’ll be up against. One of the highlights was a new type of enemy, affectionately call Sleeping Beauties and presumably inspired by the witch from Left 4 Dead. Dying Light…
Just when we thought we had hit a plateau when it comes to different ways to cool your PC, a chap named Matt over at DIY Perks on YouTube has an ingenious new solution. PC cooling hasn’t come as far as the rest of the industry over the years. We’ve seen fans, water cooling and whatever this is, before. But we could be adding a third (we don’t count that copper foam thing) method to the list. Last year March, DIY Perks uploaded a video of the successful proof-of-concept of his modern bellows system. His system uses magnet trickery and water to…
Sir Tim Berners-Lee, “The Father of the Web”, has just sold the source code for the internet as an NFT for $5.4M (R77M). There’s a lot to unpack here so we’ll take you through it. First off, there’s no reason to panic. The internet doesn’t have an owner now and this doesn’t mean anything major is changing with the way you view your memes or send emails. He isn’t even selling the code itself, more on that later. NFT sounds like an infection but it isn’t A non-fungible token (NFT) is a form of crypto asset that uses a digital…
Watch Parties on Twitch launched towards the end of last year. They allow streamers to host group viewing sessions for movies and series available on Amazon Prime but, until recently, it was only available to desktop users. Now Jeff Bezos has decreed that it should be available on Android and iOS devices as well, and so it is. https://twitter.com/Twitch/status/1410285296718028803 How to watch someone watch something on Twitch However, before you start weeping with joy at the good-willingness of Bezos and run off to join your favourite streamer, it’s worth noting that you’ll only be able to do so if you…
The Games of the XXXII Olympiad, or the 2020 Summer Olympics — as normal people call them — are nearly upon us. No, you haven’t accidentally initiated your flux-capacitor and gone back in time, they’re this year. If you’ve been living under a rock for the last year or so there’s a global pandemic going on, which necessitated the postponement of the games that were originally scheduled to take place last year in Tokyo. Those games are now, well not now, but soon. Showmax me how to watch the Olympics The Tokyo 2020 Olympics will run from 23 July to 8…
If you think of the term ‘flying car’ what comes to mind? If it’s a car-shaped bird or a bird-shaped car then that’s not what we’re talking about and you should consider going outside and touching some grass. If it’s some sort of transformer with retractable wings and an engine as well as a propeller, then good for you. Flying car’s propeller goes brrrr Stefan Klein, the founder and chief executive officer of Klein Vision — a Slovakian Research and Development company — just completed what we’re sure is a world first. He drove his AirCar (we hope that name or…
Ah yes, 2016, remember that year? Because we don’t. All we remember was that Pokemon Go swept the world and Todd Howard gave us the first, albeit unofficial, mention of the next Elder Scrolls game during an interview with Geoff Keighley on YouTube’s Live at E3 stream. The Elder Scrolls 6 confirmed!? “[Elder Scrolls is] something we love. But it is — I have to be careful what I say — it’s a very long way off. I could sit here and explain the game to you, and you would say, ‘That sounds like you don’t even have the technology — how long is…
Microsoft is looking to gain some ground in an unusual place: the wildly competitive cutthroat realm of AI-powered writing tools. In this corner, we have Grammarly, the writing tool that acts as your personal editor, available on many different platforms (even within Microsoft apps). In the other corner, we have Microsoft Editor. Microsoft’s version launched in March last year that does pretty much the same thing. Let the match begin. Currently, Grammarly has Editor on the ropes because it’s available everywhere — as standalone desktop apps for Windows and Mac, a browser extension and a keyboard app on mobile platforms. You…
