Oura has just announced its latest smart ring, the Oura Ring 5. It’s aptly named, seeing as it follows the Oura Ring 4. The thing Oura is really punting with this one is its claim that the Ring 5 is thinner, lighter, and smaller. That’s not really a big deal on its own. Lots of things get smaller over time. But Oura’s new 6.09mm-wide, 2.28mm-thick, 2-gram smart ring is smaller without sacrificing any battery life or sensor accuracy. That’s pretty impressive, if true. What’s next? Tiny screens? Oura used a redesigned sensing architecture, now with twelve signal pathways, stronger LEDs,…

A day before the official announcement of the Sennheiser Momentum 5, Japanese audio brand Acoustune announced a device that could pair perfectly with those headphones, seeing as they don’t come with their own dongle like the HDB 630. Well, the ATX001, as it’s affectionately named, would pair well with any wireless headphones. Especially if you’re listening to them via an older source. The whole point of this dinky little dongle is to upgrade your ageing source’s wireless audio abilities. Improve your source by adding some ATX001 There are a few things to note before you rush out to get one.…
Last Friday, we reported that regulatory images of Sennheiser’s supposed Momentum 5 headphones were doing the rounds and that their existence likely meant that we would see the new headphones in the coming weeks or months. Well, it seems like someone at the company thought it would be funny to prove us wrong. The headphones were made official today. “With MOMENTUM 5 Wireless, we focused on refining the entire experience without straying from the formula that made its predecessor such a success,” said Product Manager Sreenath ‘Sri’ Unnikrishnan, “These enhancements enrich the overall functionality while still capturing the magic you…
Herman Miller, the company usually known for its chairs, has launched a new motorised gaming desk. Although this isn’t the company’s first gaming desk, this new one serves as a more ‘accessible’ entry point. At least, compared to its previous non-motorised Motia desk. We’re still not sure if we would call something priced over $1,000 ‘accessible’. Herman Miller appeals to gamers The Herman Miller Coyl, to give it its full name, has a bunch of neat features that make this more than just an overpriced piece of wood with four legs. For starters, there are only two legs, which offer…
Sennheiser’s Momentum range looks set to welcome two new models before long. Regulatory images of the still-unofficial Momentum 5 headphones and Momentum True Wireless 5 earbuds are doing the rounds online, thanks to leaky pipes at the FCC in the US. While the images are a little grainy, the headphones and earbuds look pretty much good to go. That probably means an official announcement isn’t too far away. It could be weeks, it could be months. But at least we know they’re coming. Now that’s real Momentum Unsurprisingly, the new Momentum 5 looks very similar to Senny’s previous cans. The…
Sony has finally made the WH-1000XX ‘The Collexion’ headphones official. This pair is meant to be the company’s premium headset in its 1000X range and marks the tenth anniversary of the MDR-1000X’s launch in 2016. Add these to your Collexion Some obvious changes, which we saw a little early, include a redesigned hinge with metal accents. Those are joined by a slightly wider headband with more cushioning (apparently), and a premium-looking faux leather finish to the earcups. Your colour options are the standard black and ‘Platinum’. Inside the ‘The Collexion’ (this is why you don’t give your product a ‘the’),…
It might not be the first monitor capable of 1,000Hz, but LG’s latest UltraGear gaming monitor claims to be the first in the world to do it at its native Full HD resolution. It makes sense then that it’s aimed squarely at competitive gamers, specifically those who play fast-paced first-person shooter titles, like Counter-Strike 2 or Valorant. Other manufacturers have already launched monitors capable of reaching a refresh rate of 1,000Hz or more. But those are usually dual-mode monitors that require you to drop the screen size or resolution substantially. The 24.5in IPS LG UltraGear 25G590B can operate at 1,000Hz…
Asus has officially announced the upgrades coming to the ROG Strix Scar 18. While that doesn’t include new silicon from Nvidia, and an only-slightly refreshed chip from Intel, it is still set to be one of the most performant gaming laptops available. There is only so far you can push PC hardware, and Asus is getting pretty close to the limits of the tech packed inside the gigantic ROG Strix Scar 18. This year’s model features the same 175W thermal design power (TDP) for the RTX 5090 GPU as last year’s. You want performance? You got it However, Asus says…
Last week, Volkswagen ripped the covers off the all-new, all-electric ID. Polo GTI. It isn’t available for purchase just yet, with the German company calling this a ‘near-production concept vehicle’. But 50 years after the first GTI debuted, showing off the new one now makes sense. It appears to have retained much of the GTI character. It uses what VW calls the “Volkswagen Pure Positive design language”, including the iconic red stripe across the front end. You can’t have the ID. Polo GTI yet At the heart of the new ID. Polo GTI is a new drive system, called ‘APP290’.…
Yesterday, we covered the Alienware 15, Dell’s latest addition to the Alienware range and its cheapest model yet. The updated Razer Blade 18 sits on the other end of the spectrum. The company has updated the internals and increased the price to match. Interestingly, it also has two separate pitches to those looking at this thing for gaming or AI workloads. As you’d expect from a flagship, this thing ticks pretty much every box. The CPU has been upgraded from Intel’s Core Ultra 9 275HX to the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus. This change only nets you around 100MHz higher…
