Netflix wants you to know that it makes movies. It’s fairly well know at this point but given how traditional Hollywood hasn’t been all that welcoming to streaming-only movies, Netflix feels like it’s got to prove the point. Thus, the video-on-demand service has announced that subscribers can expect at least one new movie from Netflix every week for the whole of 2021. That’s a lot of films, with the current number sitting at around 70 releases throughout the year. This puts Netflix well in front of competing services such as Amazon Prime Video, Showmax and Disney+ (not that Disney+ counts…

We don’t need to remind everyone that WhatsApp just became public enemy number one in the eyes of many users. Thanks to an updated terms and conditions agreement which forces users to share data with Facebook or leave the app entirely, there’s been somewhat of an exodus. Disgruntled users have begun leaving for competing apps such as Signal and Telegram and while neither has quite gained the numbers to deal with the dominance of WhatsApp, it’s still good to see people taking some kind of stand. That’s why today, we wanted to share a few reasons we use Telegram here…

Who even needs people any more? We’re dirty, rude and incredibly awful at hosting keynote speeches at CES. Hence why LG went a rather weird route, choosing to use a “virtual influencer” to get the job done. We don’t know which part of that statement is worse: The “virtual” or the “influencer”. Reah Keem is a digital influencer and host who’s apparently also a DJ and a travel enthusiast — which is very strange to hear about a computer program. Still, LG needs to make their host seem more like an actual person so why not go with those hip…

With the world collectively coming to the decision that WhatsApp sharing (even more) user information with parent company Facebook, perhaps it’s a good idea to see if you’ve already been affected. Following the change to WhatsApp’s terms and conditions last Wednesday which essentially forced users to share info with Facebook or GTFO, a small exodus has begun taking form as folks have left for the likes of Signal, Telegram or any instant messaging app that has nothing to do with Facebook. Maybe you’re morbidly curious about the situation. Maybe you just need to know if the worst has happened and…

If you’re already on either Telegram or Signal then you might have noticed a strange occurrence this weekend. New users flooded to both platforms in a bid to kick WhatsApp to the curb following the implementation of an updated terms and conditions agreement. Said agreement, which essentially allowed WhatsApp to share more user information with Facebook than it already does, has been met with such vitriol for its more intrusive policy that thousands are leaving WhatsApp for greener (less green?) pastures. While an updated terms and conditions isn’t out of the norm for social media apps, what left a sour…

We at Stuff have often looked at a fancy new TV that’s just arrived in the office for review and said amongst ourselves, “It’s neat. But can it bend?”. That’s a question that LG is looking to answer as the company showed off it’s new 48-in bendable gaming TV. Sure, it sounds like a gimmick (which it is) but seeing the screen in action filled our heads with enough hype to ignore that irritating sense of logic. At the press of a button, LG’s flexible screen bends from a straight TV panel to a curved gaming monitor. Look, you could also used…

Sony shows off company's first 360-degree speakers When you're listening to... well, to anything it's really important that the sound be good. It should envelop you, wrap you up in its harmonies. That's the idea behind 360-degree audio and while other companies may have beaten Sony to the punch, that doesn't mean they aren't responding.

There’s nothing quite like the scripted chaos of a Hitman game. The only way one could make it any better is if you weren’t staring at the back of Agent 47’s bald head but instead where inside it. That’s the idea behind the VR mode in the upcoming Hitman 3 by IO Interactive. In the game’s VR modeyou’ll be doing everything you’d expect from the franchise: identifying targets, quietly removing guards, donning their outfits and triggering Rube Goldberg-esque traps of chaos. The most impressive part of this whole thing is that the VR mode isn’t some separate experience that just pulls scenes…

The dream of PC gaming is to somehow contain all a PC’s power into a device that’s playable while lying in bed. That’s what Lenovo is attempting with the LaVie Mini, a hybrid device that doubles as both a laptop and a dedicated gaming console. It’s essentially a Nintendo Switch but functions more like a small PC than a dedicated piece of gaming hardware. It’s so close to the Switch in concept that it even comes with a touchscreen and a dock to connect it to a bigger screen. “Concept” is the important word there, as Lenovo hasn’t greenlit the…

No matter how many scientific articles are shared and conspiracy theories are disproved, there’ll always be that one guy who doesn’t shut up and learn. Such is the case in KZN where three 5G cellphone towers have been burnt and destroyed following remarks made by KZN district councillor Sifiso Mngadi insisting that COVID-19 is a hoax and that 5G is making people sick. Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams spoke of the destruction of the towers in a statement released earlier today. “The country currently needs resilient and high-speed connectivity for every citizen to enable them to participate…
