Multichoice has been increasing its digital offerings over the past year, including launching its own DStv streaming service, a decoder dedicated to streaming and more Showmax options. Now, it has started testing more live channels on Showmax, regardless of your subscription package.
Live on Showmax
This week, DStv announced that two of its channels will now be streaming as live channels on the streaming service Showmax. Now you have more than one place to watch both Mzanzi Magic and KykNet live.
This comes at a time when many people in South Africa are under lockdown, with the only constant being our various platforms used for entertainment. Many users have decided to ditch DStv completely for only streaming services. And if Showmax is one of those, you’ll now have access to some homebrew live TV.
Mzanzi Magic will exclusively stream in South Africa on the platform, while KykNet will be available to watch in SA, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Accessibility isn’t dictated by your level of subscription either, as the two channels are available throughout on Showmax, Showmax mobile, Showmax Pro and Showmax Pro mobile.
