Huawei’s already got a wider version of its foldable smartphones. The newly unveiled Pura X View gives the company’s standard phones a similar treatment. All of the details haven’t been… well, detailed yet, but the Chinese company is still showing off the phone.
And, if you’re a resident of Huawei’s home turf, the X View is also currently available for pre-order ahead of its 28 August unveiling. Next week, all of the Pura X View’s specs and features are set to be revealed. In the meantime, just look at how wide it is.
Pura X View from the top
That’s down to the X View’s 16:9.5 aspect ratio, territory Huawei has already explored with its Pura X Max foldable. The screen’s exact size isn’t known (rumours suggest a 6.39in display), but many of the other panel details are. A 2,232 x 1,320 resolution, 6,500 nits of max brightness, and 1.05mm-thick bezels are all specs to look forward to.
Also confirmed are a thickness of 6.68mm, 201 grams of weight in your pocket, and a 7,000mAh battery. A triple-lens camera arrangement runs in a horizontal line across the phone’s rear panel. Obviously, there’s now space to spread out in that direction. 12GB of RAM and graduations of storage up to 1TB suggest that the Pura X View could get rather pricey. Huawei’s HarmonyOS 7 runs the show.
Alongside the screen size rumour, Huawei’s own Kirin 9030S (found in the Pura 90s Pro) is supposed to take up residence here. The camera lineup is supposed to comprise a triple loadout of 50MP sensors. In terms of camera performance, it’s probably not going to be Huawei’s very best. It won’t be awful, either. We’re keeping our eyes peeled for more details before 28 August rolls around.
