Is it just us, or does Black Friday seem to be coming earlier and earlier every year? Not wanting to miss out on all the spending, Amazon’s ‘Early Black Friday’ sale started yesterday and runs until 31 October.
There are a dizzying number of deals and special offers, way too many to list them all. Sorting through them yourself can also be tedious. So if you’re looking for tech-related deals, you’ve come to the right place.
It’s worth noting that while the sale runs until 31 October, there’s no guarantee that stock will last that long.

Amazon’s early Black Friday specials 2026
Seagate 2TB External HDD – R1,200 (52% off)

We’ll start with something most of the Stuff team has had their eyes on since before the sale even started. The price of this external Seagate 2TB hard drive has done nothing but climb since the AI companies started gobbling up all the memory chips to feed their data centres. Amazon is one of the culprits of that, so there’s an extra sense of irony that this 2TB HDD can now be had for the semi-reasonable price of R1,200.
Philips OneBlade – R357 (38% off)

It’s no secret that most of the Stuff team love the OneBlade from Philips. It received special attention in a column, and it was even featured in a previous deals roundup. This time around, the deal is even sweeter. Sure, there’s one fewer face comb, but it’s also listed for nearly R200 less. If you’re still hunting for something to tame your face shrub, then the OneBlade starter kit for R357 gets our vote. If you’ve got a bit more cash to spend, this kit for R600 (53% off) includes extra bits for the rest of your body.
Philips 5000 Series compact facial hair remover – R378 (39% off)

Despite the targeted marketing, there’s nothing stopping women from using the OneBlade. Still, some folks would rather get something tailored for them, and that’s okay. This facial hair remover (also from Philips) seems to go about the hair removal process in a softer way. Whether that’s due to the different blade design or the fact that it comes in ‘Lychee Pink’, we can’t pinpoint. The built-in mirror and LED light will probably aid its appeal to the target market. It also leaves us wondering why male-targeted grooming products don’t get that.
Packard Bell Silverstone T18 – R2,500 (29% off)

We’ve already spent a bit of time with this 11in tablet from Packard Bell. The 10.5in 1,920×1,200 in-cell display and the 7,000mAh battery were the standout features for us. The display is great whether you’re keeping yourself busy with mobile games, reading comics, or browsing online stores. The battery might not sound that impressive these days, but it should still net you a full day and have a bit left in the tank. It’s not going to win any compute speed awards, but that would be asking for too much at this price. At the time we reviewed it, it was going for R4,300. Amazon’s list price is less than that, and the sale price of R2,500 is even lower. A no-brainer, really.
Asus ZenScreen MB169CK portable monitor – R1,425 (40% off)

We haven’t yet reviewed this specific model of portable USB monitor from Asus, but it’s awfully close to a few we have reviewed. So if it’s anything like those, it’s very likely a good buy at this price. The 15.6in Full HD (1,920 x 1,080px) display should be crisp enough to not miss the fine details of your spreadsheets, and the fact that you just need a single USB-C cable between it and your laptop means you’re able to take it more places with you.
HP 250RT G9 Notebook – R5,500 (45% off)

We’re still a few months away from the flood of back-to-school specials. You could wait until the new year to start laptop shopping, or you could think ahead and pre-score with this HP laptop deal. Unless you’re the kind of person to get irrationally angry with slow tech. The Intel N100 CPU in here will move at its own pace, which is probably slower than you’d like. The 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage might help things along, but we wouldn’t count on that. But we’ve all got to start somewhere, right? This one is perfect for Little Timmy’s first laptop for big school projects. Best keep it out of the sandbox, though.
HP 255 G10 Notebook – R8,900

This laptop isn’t even part of the special, but we came across it while browsing and thought it still belongs on this list. Like the last one, it features a 15.6in display and 8GB of RAM. But here you get a noticeably faster Ryzen 3 7330U CPU and 512GB of SSD storage. We feel more comfortable recommending this to folks who need to get stuff done. Again, for this price, you should keep your expectations in check. You’ll still feel it chug when you approach double-digit Chrome tabs.
Sennheiser Accentum wireless headphones – R1,800 (51% off)

Sennheiser has been making fantastic headphones for ages. We reviewed the 80th Anniversary edition of the Momentum 4 a little while ago. Those were still fantastic, despite launching roughly four years ago. The Accentum are like the little brother to Sennheiser’s Momentum range. You’re not getting the full package of excellent build quality, sound resolution, wide soundstage, or extensive battery life. But the quality dropping from ‘excellent’ to ‘great’ isn’t that bad when you consider this price. You’ll save a further couple of Rands if you opt for the white model. In this economy, we need all the help available.
Anker Liberty 4 NC wireless earbuds – R1,000 (23% off)

This is another one of those devices we’ve previously reviewed and recommended at its original price. In fact, we thought they were a little underpriced for what they deliver. Normally in the R1,700 – R2,000 price category, at Amazon’s early Black Friday price of R1,000, they’re even easier to recommend. You can get better audio quality, noise-cancelling, or battery life from other products, but finding all three at this price point is like spotting a unicorn… even if it really happened, no one would believe you.
