We already guessed the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE would be a bit of a wet plum when leaks began circulating in July. Now, it’s pretty much confirmed. WinFuture obtained a complete spec sheet that shows just how limited Samsung’s effort has been here. Despite the supposed incremental upgrade, Samsung’s also gettin’ a bit cheeky.
One hell of a mid-ranger
The South Korean outfit has mostly left the Galaxy S26 FE alone this year. That makes its decision to hike the price of a phone where its sole selling point is its affordability an even bigger slap in the face. Dealabs is reporting that the device is set to start at €800 (∼R15,000) — a €50 increase over last year’s model, the Galaxy S25 FE.
Fortunately, that one still exists. You’ll hardly even have to make any compromises for sticking with the old stuff. Barring a new design that adds to the weight (now 193g), it’s just as thin (7.44mm) as the old thing. It’s fitted with the Exynos 2500 SoC, the sort of incremental upgrade you’d want, nay, expect to see inside a mid-ranger.

If you were holding out for a new display, prepare to be disappointed. The 6.7in AMOLED panel powering the device is still fine, we’re sure. It’ll hit 120Hz with no issues, and likely caps out at 1,900 nits of brightness. The 4,900mAh battery is just as disappointing to see again, as is the 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB storage flavours.
It’ll be worth seeing Samsung attempt to steer this careening train back on track. Samsung is certainly fighting an uphill battle with a higher price and minimal upgrades. We’ll get to see the fireworks sooner rather than later, with WinFuture confirming what we already knew — that a September release is likely.
