iPhone 13 renders leak ahead of Apple’s launch event

Apple iPhone 13

What’s a launch day without some unexpected (who’re we kidding, it’s become so suspected) leaks of unannounced devices? As Apple’s putting the final touches on its digital launch stream for this evening, renders of the iPhone 13 range made their way to the internet.

Published by EVLeaks (because of course, it was), the renders don’t show much in terms of a physical distinction between the iPhone 12 and the upcoming iPhone 13 range. The design looks heavily influenced by the last generation of devices – but that’s kind of expected knowing Apple.

One tiny distinction is the size of the notch on the display — it looks significantly smaller than previous devices — but it is important to note that these images are renders and not actual pictures. Otherwise, the camera module looks exactly like its predecessors, holding either two or three camera sensors in a square-shaped housing around back.

More details on the iPhone 13?

Now that we know more or less what the devices will look like (thanks leakers, love you!), we’re expecting to see a few internal improvements at least. If your iPhone’s gonna look exactly like last year’s, it better function slightly better, right?

We’re expecting to see a higher refresh rate on the displays (bless!), smaller notches and always-on display tech. Along with this previous leaks have indicated we may see a larger wireless charging coil and improved camera tech packed into the back. Apple’s been fairly good at delivering improved iPhone camera chops in recent years.

There are a few ways to check out Apple’s event tomorrow evening. You can watch it on this page (in the video above), on YouTube (which is the same video), on Twitter or via the Apple website. You can also keep an eye on Stuff‘s Twitter feed if you just want the most essential information while you go about your evening, or you can check in on the Stuff website on the night, as we dissect what Apple announces and whether we called everything correctly.
