Apple’s new iPad Pro is now available in SA from R17,700

Apple wants to replace your laptop with its new iPad Pro (2020), for realsies. Although it’s a cute idea, in theory, we doubt many people will replace their precious lap-machines, but the updated iPad is a beast of a machine that will impress even the most finicky of tech users.

In terms of raw power, there’s no tablet that can beat the latest iPad Pro. it’s fitted with Apple’s A12Z Bionic chip with 64‑bit architecture, a neural engine and an embedded M12 coprocessor. It’s also got a USB-C connector in lieu of the Lightning port, which makes it a great option for designers or power users who need to connect an external display.

The well-calibrated True Tone display is also an absolute blessing for creatives, while TabOS runs very well and the camera is even surprisingly impressive. Just don’t let anyone see you taking pics with a tablet in public.

As you probs know, there’s a 12.9in big boy and an 11in option. Both come in silver or space grey and are available in storage options from 128GB to 1TB (but you’ll need to show some serious cash for 1TB variants).  Aside from the usual accessories, which include the Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard, the Magic Keyboard will also be available for both tablet sizes from the store, and that’ll cost you anything from R7,000. This is the key to turning the iPad Pro into a notebook if you’re keen on that.

The iPad Pro 12.9 (2020) costs anything from R22,000 depending on config, while the 11in option starts out at R17,700. These are available to buy online from the iStore SA right now and will be available in iStores from tomorrow 22 May.
