You'll often catch me dreaming of a Wind Waker remaster. Or sleeping. One of the two.

We’re of the opinion that the gaming scene in South Africa peaked in 2014, when Free Lives released Broforce – one of the very best side-scrollers around. That was nearly ten years ago, and nothing’s come close to Broforce’s quality since. Well, perhaps Stasis: Bone Totem, a follow-up to 2015’s Stasis from the minds of The Brotherhood can unseat Broforce from its current hierarchy. We’ll see about that on the 31st of May, once the game hits the Steam and GoG stores. We’re not in Space anymore So… what is Stasis: Bone Totem? In short, it’s a horror game. More…

Rain has officially entered the mobile network fray, unveiling its first 4G mobile network, taking the fight directly to South Africa’s three other major network operators – Vodacom, MTN and Telkom. If that weren’t enough, the operator is rolling out rainOne, a new product that combines all of its services into one. This includes unlimited (and uncapped) data on a fixed- 5G connection for the home, plus free monthly calls and data across two mobile phones (there is a limit, but we’ll get to that). All for R560/m, with no long-term contracts involved. Bless the 4G Let’s cover that 4G…

Despite what you may have read online, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is good. Nay, great. You probably won’t believe us, with the public’s trust being shattered by Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Put all that out of your mind (we’ve been trying since February), because Vol. 3 is one of the MCU’s best. We don’t say that lightly. The MCU’s best consists of Infinity War and even James Gunn’s own debut into the world of modern superhero films (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1). Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is a myriad of things done right. Excellent…

Have you ever watched the Xbox Game Studios Game Camp from afar, jealous of Xbox’s apparent love of Europe and the US (and pretty much everywhere else)? Well, no longer. Today, Microsoft confirmed that the Game Camp is expanding into Africa. The event is scheduled to run from 15-16 July with applications officially opening today. Well? What are you waiting for? Oh, right. We haven’t even told you what a Game Camp is. Camp worth attending? If, somehow, you aren’t tired of hearing about Twitter’s ever-changing rainbow nation of checkmarks, Google could be about to change your mind. Blue verified checkmarks are set to begin appearing next to senders’ names in Gmail, the company announced yesterday. Those companies that have already adopted Gmail’s existing Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI) feature will automatically have the checkmark appear next to their name in others’ inboxes. (Blue) Da ba dee da ba di The point, obviously, is to slow down impersonation. Considering that BIMI verification requires companies to set up strong authentication rather than splash out on an…

We know, we know. Your favourite Legend of Zelda game probably isn’t on here. If we had to pick every game in the series that we liked we’d be here all day. As hard as the decision was, we finally settled on five of Nintendo’s best in the mainline Zelda timeline that aren’t Breath of the Wild. That means we don’t have to think about ‘Freshly-Picked Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland’ any longer than we already have. Trust us, you don’t want to go in there. See? We told you. 5. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Alright, confession time. We never…

Judgement Day is upon us once again. The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy has arrived, just like the ancient texts (the Central Energy Fund) said it would. It’s come to deliver the people of South Africa the upcoming month’s petrol and diesel prices no matter if they’re good or bad. This time around… it’s a bit of both. If you hadn’t already guessed, petrol drivers are once again taking the brunt of the Department’s lust for money, while diesel drivers continue to be favoured. It’s fine. We’re used to it by now. Obviously, the Department has no real sway…

If you thought a game where the primary focus was to wreck your opponents using cars and guns (and car-guns) wouldn’t translate well to a live-action adaptation, who cares? It’s happening anyway. Peacock is actively developing a live-action Twisted Metal series that’ll see Anthony Mackie in the starring role. It’s set to premiere on 27 July. If you’re wondering what the hell Twisted Metal even is and when it’ll appear in the next chapter of Fortnite, you’re far too young. Heck, only a percentage of Stuff was around back when the Twisted Metal series was at its peak in the…

We have some bad news. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has leaked. As in, the entirety of the game has made its way into the hands of fans that aren’t quite as fearful of the ‘Big N’ as they should be. If you were planning on taking a break from social media until after the game’s release – it appears your time has come. Tears of Nintendo But how does a game like Tears of the Kingdom, with this much hype (and perhaps the best lawyers in the world) backing it, manage to leak early? Well, we don’t…

Microsoft Teams, one of the world’s largest business-centric communication applications is getting an upgrade: Payments. No longer need webinars, meetings, or classes be free of charge, with small- and medium-sized businesses being afforded the opportunity to begin charging customers to attend their sessions. This opens an entirely new market for tutors, lawyers, or anyone else that sells knowledge to interested parties. There’s just one problem. The Payments feature is limited to businesses in the US and Canada (for now, at least). You can see the app listing right here, though unless you reside in the US or Canada, is there…
