It’s been less than a week since Nintendo unveiled the Switch 2, and accessories have already begun appearing despite the distinct lack of information on Nintendo’s part. Nacon has wasted no time being one of the first third-party providers to reveal their Switch 2 add-ons, and, a possible launch window for the console itself.
It’s almost a gimme at this point that any console that Nintendo puts out will eventually get some sort of steering wheel controller, paired best with the latest Mario Kart. Fortunately for Nacon, the singular game that Nintendo happened to reveal alongside the new console was, in fact, Mario Kart 9.
A wild Switch 2 accessory appears

“With the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2, NACON offers a complete range of accessories to protect your console while enhancing your gaming experience. Whether you’re looking to prevent accidental damage or improve comfort, discover innovative solutions designed to meet the needs of all players,” the accessory maker wrote in a blog post.
The line includes the usual slew of protective cases and shells, chargers, tempered glass screen protectors, and even cleaning tools to ensure your Switch 2 remains fingerprint- and dirt-free. Then there are the aforementioned Joy-Con steering wheel grips designed to suit the larger, more ergonomic Joy-Cons attached to the Switch 2.
But it’s the news about a potential release window, extrapolated from Nacon’s latest financial results (via IGN), that interests us most. In it, Nacon delved into its expectations for the first half of the 2025/2026 fiscal year (between April and September 2025), where it lists the arrival of the Switch 2 as a boon for the company.
From Nacon:
Business levels in the first half of 2025/26 will be supported by several positive factors, including:
-
The contribution of new Gaming and Accessories products that were not launched in 2024/25
-
The Back Catalogue business, which will remain buoyant
-
A busy release schedule comprising around 10 new games, with the main ones due to be revealed during the Nacon Connect event on 6 March
-
The arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2 console, for which Nacon already has compatible games and a full range of accessories.
An April release seems most likely, judging by Nintendo’s past behaviour. The Japanese company has already announced several hands-on events that’ll put the Switch 2 in the hands of media and consumers alike in April, mightily similar to those held just days before the release of the original Switch back in 2017. It’s also targeting the 2nd of April for a Nintendo Direct, where it’s expected to dive deeper into the specs and upcoming Switch 2 games.
