January 2025 is running out the clock, which means, among other things, that Samsung is gearing up to host its first Galaxy Unpacked of the year, delivering the usual slew of flagship devices. In this case, that’ll be the three-strong Galaxy S25 family – though it might breathe some fresh air into the proceedings with a new addition – the Ring.
Unpacking Samsung’s intentions

Samsung has remained quiet, preferring to keep its intentions private — as if it hasn’t stuck to the same old schedule for the past couple of years. We’re reasonably confident the S25 will attend the first Unpacked of the year, which Samsung currently has scheduled to go live tomorrow evening, Wednesday, 22 January.
Of course, you’ll need to watch the Unpacked to see what direction Samsung will take this year (or you could always visit stuff.co.za – just sayin’). The easiest place to do that is to visit the South Korean smartphone maker’s official YouTube account where a livestream is already waiting and set to go live at 20h00 local time.

Or, you could always visit Samsung’s website to get your information straight from the horse’s mouth (and feast your eyes upon a whole lot more advertising). You’ll still need to make your way there ahead of the 20h00 local starting time if you plan to see all that the South Korean company has to offer at this year’s Unpacked.
If you were hoping to see the rumoured Galaxy S25 Slim make an appearance, we’d advise keeping expectations low. That’s not to say Samsung won’t save some sort of reveal for the end of the show like an MCU end-credits scene, but we wouldn’t count on it. The latest rumours swirling around the newest member of the S25 family point toward a May launch.
