You'll often catch me dreaming of a Wind Waker remaster. Or sleeping. One of the two.

Insta360, purveyor of action-cams and drones, is looking to expand. Again. This time, it’s coming after your smartphone with the Snap Selfie Screen, a 3.5in display that’ll attach itself to the back of your phone. The idea is to allow selfie-takers to tap into the full potential of their smartphone’s rear camera. For a price. You only care about your self(ies) But not an awfully extravagant one. Sure, those carrying around a flagship Samsung or Apple device likely need not worry about waning selfie quality, but hardcore social media girlies walking around with a 2020 phone in their pocket? The Snap’s S$115…

Is your first-gen Paperwhite still going strong? That might just be the driver behind Amazon’s latest decision to sunset several of the older Kindle models out there. Anything with a Kindle logo from 2012 or earlier, in other words. One user with a first-gen Paperwhite received an email explaining the move, confirming support would officially come to an end on 20 May. Some others with even older models have yet to receive the email, however. “Starting May 20, 2026 – 14 to 18 years after their initial launches – we are discontinuing support for Kindle devices released in 2012 or…

The smashing success (overseas, anyway) that is the MacBook Neo was bound to get a sequel. But not even we thought we’d be hearing about it quite so soon. Former Bloomberg journalist Tim Culpan reckons he has a rough idea of what to expect from a potential MacBook Neo 2, as revealed in his own Culpium newsletter. What Apple will name the line-up when the ‘Neo’ name inevitably goes stale, we don’t know. But for now, it’ll probably skate by as the MacBook Neo once again. For now, the Fruit Company is deciding whether it should ramp up production for the…

The Oppo A6 Pro already had its moment in the sun last year, and now it’s the rest of the family’s turn. Oppo today confirmed that the latest additions to the A6 Series have come to South Africa, beginning with the Oppo A6. It sits at the head of the family, with a 7,000mAh battery that should make up for any other misgivings. It’s followed by the Oppo A6x, a cheaper-but-weaker option that’s still somewhat intriguing. It doesn’t stop there, however. Oppo’s announcement mentions yet another variant — the Oppo A6k. That one is headed for South Africa sometime in May,…

It’s never easy to get the masses that excited for charging solutions and cables (unless you’re Toby Shapshak), but Anker does okay. It hasn’t quite gone the way of Rolling Square’s minute 100W charger, but the company’s new 10-in-1 Nano Power Strip is certainly cool enough to attract a few stray eyeballs here and there. Don’t drop Anker That isn’t simply because of its ten (10!) different ports — 2x USB-C, 2x USB-A, and 6x AC outlets, which is more than enough to encompass your entire desk — but rather how it’ll get you that power. Anker’s cooked up a clever…

Apple’s worst-kept secret may not be a secret for much longer. For months, rumours have flown around that the Fruit Company had a foldable iPhone in its arsenal, meant to firmly plant Apple amid the competition. Some sources have claimed a possible September unveiling, with a launch later in the year — possibly even December. Now, however, it seems Apple is working overtime to get the so-called iPhone Fold out on time. A new iPhone enters the fold On time, in this case, means alongside the iPhone 18 line-up. Not only would the new phone be unveiled next to its…

When Meta isn’t cramming WhatsApp full of unnecessary AI, it’s building out a rather helpful suite of features. The latest addition, spotted by WABetaInfo, falls into the latter camp. That would be real-time noise cancellation for calls, ideally providing vastly superior call quality by scrubbing traffic or similar sounds. WhatsApp answers the call WABetaInfo first discovered the feature was in the works back in March, though it now seems WhatsApp is rolling it out to a few of its beta testers. Specifically, in the beta 2.26.14.1 update for Android owners. The feature is seemingly enabled by default, meaning users won’t have…

Still mentally exhausted by the official April fuel price adjustments? Too bad. The machine that is the Central Energy Fund (CEF) chugs along soundly, with or without you. Perhaps “without you” is accurate, if the latest predictions are anything to go by. Despite a tough month ahead, May is shaping up to be even worse. Far worse. Diesel stays losing If the CEF’s daily predictive fuel price snapshot captured on 1 April is accurate (and we’re sorry to say that it is), then petrol drivers could be facing yet another R6+ increase. Diesel drivers, once again, get the worst end…

It’s becoming clear that Sony is developing some sort of handheld device. Whether it’ll be a proper PS6 companion or its own thing entirely is still unknown (we would like a Vita sequel). What we (maybe) know, according to known leaker KeplerL2, is that it’ll outstrip the Xbox Series S, despite its stature. Of course, until Sony confirms it, take your console leaks with a pinch of salt. But KeplerL2 is a known quantity, if one with a patchy track record. Only six months ago, he claimed that the PS6 was locked in for 2027. That may still technically be true,…

Would you look at that? Just as surely as the sun would rise this morning, another Chinese SUV — this time from Changan — has come to South Africa. The brand promised that its newest mid-size SUV, the Uni-S, would come to SA in early April, and now it’s made good on that commitment. It arrives in three variants: the CS, CL, and CE. It enters the segment not as an alternative, but as the strongest contender of 2026,” Changang said (via TopAuto). “This is not about offering ‘good enough for the price’, it is about completely challenging expectations of…
