We’re still several months away from the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S27 family, which means the leaks are right on schedule. Today’s concern the flagship of the bunch, the S27 Ultra. What look to be renders of the device have leaked online, courtesy of ‘SonnyDickson’ on X, and show us the direction Samsung is probably headed next year.
Following in Apple’s footsteps

No, we haven’t made a mistake. That is the supposed design the Galaxy S27 Ultra will employ, despite its clear, er, inspiration from the iPhone 17 Pro and up. The camera module now looks to stretch the width of the phone itself, rather than all clustering into a single corner. The CAD renders match up with another tipster, Ice Universe.
Both of them point to the refreshed iPhone-like camera plateau being the big change this year. Ice Universe took the news a step further, alleging that the device’s pill-shaped cutout would house a 5x telephoto shooter. That’d be a step above the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which included a 3x camera in the telephoto department. The renders also suggest that Samsung will incorporate some form of magnets here, allowing it to support Qi2 wireless charging.

It may not look very Samsung, but the South Korean outfit can likely pull off the change. Sure, it’ll suffer backlash for copying Apple — but once the drones calm down (or, more likely, are distracted by something else), users may come to enjoy the look. It’s more practical, allowing the island to lie closer to flat than the cluster design ever did.
Samsung will take another page out of Apple’s playbook by offering the S27 Ultra in two distinct sizes. What those sizes will be, however, is still unknown. It’s a strategy that’s worked well for the iPhone Pro and Pro Max variants before. Apple, at least, is kind enough to fill the Pro Max with a bigger battery. Samsung… may not be as kind.
