The Samsung Galaxy S7 rumours have begun to pick up speed, and the latest whispers point to the death of the standard flat screen. Unlike the Galaxy S6 which launched in both regular and curved screen Edge variants, the Galaxy S7 will reportedly launch with the curved screen as standard, ditching the regular display altogether. The report, courtesy of Vietnamese site Samsung Viet, also claims that the S7 will land in both 5.2in and 5.7in models. If true, then these handsets are likely to be called the Galaxy S7 Edge and S7 Edge Plus respectively. While we’d advise to take…

If you haven’t heard of Hyperloop, you need to put down your Dyson and hang up your Hoover: it’s a vacuum tube transportation system for the 21st Century. From the man behind the electric fantastic Tesla cars, Elon Musk, we told you back in August how these rocket cars in steel tubes could be shooting up and down America at 1,200km/h – at least in prototype form – by May 2016. And now, one of the companies which has taken up the mantle of Musk’s open source pipe dream, Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT), has announced it expects to start working on…

Of all the leaked details that emerged in the months leading up to Apple Music’s official reveal, one was particularly surprising: that Apple planned to release an Android version of the streaming music service. It makes sense, given the app’s origins: since Beats Music was on Android, and surely had a fair number of subscribers using that platform, Apple didn’t want to strand them. Still, the idea of Apple expressly making a full-fledged Android app was very curious indeed. But it’s happening, as was confirmed this year, and these leaked screens from Mobile Geeks seem to show a glimpse at…

Apple’s 12.9in iPad Pro just not big enough for you? Worry not: Samsung’s got an 18.4in whopper for you – and now we know what it looks like. Maybe. Back in August, we heard that the South Korean mega-manufacturer was scaling up its top-end tablet offering and now the same source, SamMobile, has leaked some sneaky screengrabs from a promo video for the Galaxy View. What do the shots reveal? Besides the View looking predictably like an oversized Samsung slab-o-glass, it appears to pack a couple of nifty tricks which might make the new titanic tablet something more than an…

Back at IFA last month, Samsung teased a very, very large tablet called the Galaxy View (above). And then some crucial details leaked out earlier this week. But here’s another really interesting tidbit. Thanks to a filing that passed through the United States Federal Communications Commission, it looks like the 18.6in (also reported as 18.5in) tablet will have an LTE option, with AT&T serving as an American carrier. So if you can’t get Wi-Fi in a certain location, at least you can pull down a cellular connection. Question is, will you actually encounter that situation? The Galaxy View strikes us…

HP has revealed a bunch of new kit, but none of it draws in the eyes as much as its beastly Envy Curved All-In-One PC. Its huge 34in screen is curved, which supposedly makes it feel like you’re looking at it straight on, even as you turn your head to look at the other side of the screen. We can’t verify that without laying eyes on it ourselves, but we do like its futuristic shape and shiny metal feet. The screen real estate will of course appeal to productivity fiends and gamers alike, although the resolution – 3440 x 1440…

Patent lawsuits have left an obnoxious stain on all of the incredible innovation seen in the tech and gadget worlds over the last couple decades. Thankfully, the companies are getting tired of being buried in years-long legal disputes. Last night, Google and Microsoft jointly announced plans to end a series of lawsuits against each other in the United States and Germany, with about 20 different suits affected by the settlement, says Bloomberg. No word yet on how much money will change hands, if any. Back in 2010, Microsoft filed suit claiming that Android used its technology, and then filed a…

Those veteran gadget-torturers over at iFixit have taken the scalpel to a shiny new iPhone 6s to reveal its insides. Apart from confirming that the battery is indeed a little smaller (although battery life remains unchanged, thanks to the more efficient A9 processor), we finally have official evidence that the iPhone 6s has the most RAM of any iPhone ever. That’s right, we’re now looking at a whole 2GB of RAM – twice the amount found in the iPhone 6 – and the first RAM increase since the iPhone 5. The RAM itself is the faster LPDDR4 variant too, though…

Like countless other players, Destiny enthralled us with its incredibly solid gunplay, gorgeous visuals and the promise of shinier loot always on the horizon. It was by no means perfect, though. Criticism of the patchy story and the need to sift through countless grimoire cards for the meaty information was justified, and the initial ‘carrot and stick’ reward system had far too much ‘stick’ for our liking. Still, Bungie went on to tweak and tinker, listening to player feedback and releasing two mini expansions in the process, improving the Destiny universe with each one. For some players though, those incremental improvements weren’t…

Remember “Bendgate”, where people’s iPhone 6 Pluses were warping in their pockets? Well, it seems Apple really has learned its lesson and implemented measures to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Christian, a YouTuber from Australian website FoneFox, was one of the first people in the world to get his hands on an iPhone 6s Plus, and promptly proceeded to abuse it to see if it would bend like its predecessor. NOT THIS TIME https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPGzLd8Xwx4 Thankfully, Apple has equipped the iPhone 6s Plus with a reinforced body, using new 7000 Series aluminium alloy that incorporates zinc. Apple says it’s its strongest…
