There are few things more relaxing than careening down a hill on a snowboard, lazily backflipping over rocks and between trees as you take in the sights around you. If you can do this in person, well done — you’re more athletic than the entire Stuff team. If you’re a mere mortal, like us, then you’ll have to resort to less potentially lethal means, like Alto’s Odyssey. Alto’s Odyssey — the sequel to the hugely successful and equally soothing Alto’s Adventure — has been a staple around the Stuff offices since its release on iOS earlier this year. The Android die-hards…

Apple partners with Oprah Winfrey for “multi-year content partnership” Apple’s got a streaming video service in the works and while we have little to no idea what the company is going to be doing with it, we do know that they’re going to have Oprah Winfrey joining them to create original programming. That’s according to a new release from Apple, saying that the most recognisable woman in television will help “…create original programs that embrace her incomparable ability to connect with audiences around the world.” Apple’s going to be making other Apple Originals (we can use that already, right?), but…

If you’re going to be using the internet, you need to behave as though it’s a terrible place with sketchy folks around every digital corner looking to cash in on your information. And once you’ve logged off Facebook, there are also unsavoury characters who are out to make more direct bank from the data that applies to you and yours. Here’s how to keep your precious deets, bank accounts, and even your identity safer online. Passwords matter We shouldn’t have to explain this one, ever, but you should always have a different password for each website that you use. It’s…

It was quite an experience arriving at the South African Sennheiser showroom only to see a gigantic screen welcoming us on our tour of the facility. Which made us feel rather VIP-like… and a little guilty that we originally wandered in the back door, where there’s a full-scale manufacturing operation. We were met by James Futter who, along with Mitech Direct’s Rodger Reeks, took us on a tour of the entire operation. It is… extensive. Sennheiser SA lives inside the Mitech Direct Experience Store in Midrand, Johannesburg. The large facility is a temple to sound in all its forms, with…

We might be showing our ages a little but we remember a time when 16MB of RAM for a computer was a normal thing. A 500MB hard drive used to be more than enough storage space. Back then, a computer with 128GB of RAM was unthinkable. These days… not so much. Lenovo has revealed their new Thinkpad P52 notebook, a high-end notebook that has been designed to function as a mobile VR-ready workstation. The P52 might sound like a boring slab of computer but Lenovo’s going pretty hardcore for a workstation. The Thinkpad P52 sports a 15.6in 4K display, an…

Nintendo had a lot to show at their E3 2018 presentation and we’ll get to those reveals in a bit but the game that we’ve been looking forward to most, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, was finally named and detailed in the company’s presentation. And it looks good. System-seller good. The least of the reasons for this greatness is the massive character roster. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L93H7YC-83o If you want to watch the full Nintendo character reveal, you’ll have to bank on at least 25 minutes of your time. There are almost 70 characters joining the roster for this release, including every past Smash…

If you’re going to subscribe to a gaming service these days, you might as well get something out of it besides just multiplayer access — that seems to be the thinking of both Microsoft and Sony. We’ve already seen what the Xbox team has to offer for this month, now let’s check out what the PlayStation fans have awaiting them for June 2018. And honestly, PlayStation Plus subscribers are getting the better deal this month. There are three solid games up for grabs, as well as one absolutely stellar option. The only folks who are in for any kind of…

The Resident Evil series is divided, in its early days, into three parts. First there’s the one that started it all (and those damned window-dogs) and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, the one where we managed to conquer our fears. Resident Evil 2, on the other hand, is the one that kept us awake at night. Not much has changed, we guess. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtxJtQa6VSw We’ve known about the Resident Evil 2 remake since 2015, so it’s not like the E3 reveal during Sony’s lengthy presentation is a surprise. What is surprising is just how good Capcom has managed to make this one look.…

CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 is looking even more amazing than we expected https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X2kIfS6fb8 Future media, take note: This is what a cyberpunk game should look like — though CD Projekt’s new trailer for Cyberpunk 2077, a title that has been in development for some time now, is a little brighter than we were expecting. Not that it matters, since they’ve manage to capture the cyberpunk aesthetic regardless. From idyllic luxury lives (for those who can afford it) to short and brutal endings in the darkness, this is looking like Bladerunner: The Video Game (no, not the Westwood point-and-click) — though with…

Electronic Arts managed to do what fans have been asking for for some time AND managed to annoy the lot of them at the same time at their pre-E3 presentation. EA announced the return of the Command and Conquer franchise with Command and Conquer Rivals — and then they revealed that the previously-PC series was moving to mobile. Unit Lost https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyNXQpAFQJc The reveal trailer harks back to the days when Command and Conquer was a strategic RTS (real-time strategy) title split up by FMV sequences. You can see a slightly washed-out grainy effect in the video above that has been…
