I completed a Masters Degree just so someone might take my opinions seriously one day. Also writes about video games over at Critical Hit.

Woah woah woah, slow down. You have to take a second to just appreciate the fact that I was sent a press release this morning about something you almost never see in this industry. Yeah, more rare than a high-tech corporation not removing features and selling them as separate products! Even more rare than a month going by without four Samsung digital events! That’s right, it’s just about the most scarce news story you’ll see on this little website of ours: Apple products are going on sale and the prices are… still pretty expensive but at least they’re cheaper! The iStore is having…

The Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II headphones are regarded with both a sense of awe and passion around the Stuff office. They’re easily our favourite headphones maybe ever and placed exceptionally highly on our Top Tens lists for a record number of weeks. We absolutely adore them so the news that they’re gaining new life in a different yet related form… well, it tickles us in places we didn’t even know we liked being tickled in. Expanding outwards from just a traditional set of headphones, the Quiet Comfort 35 II is being turned into what we have to assume will be an…

If there’s one thing I appreciate about GoPro, in opposition to every other big tech company, it’s that GoPro understands how to work with scale. Usually if a piece of tech is released and the “portability” is one of the main selling points, you can tell that means some features have been trimmed. Yet GoPro manages to consistently push out new models while actively adding new features, flying in the face of all those who would tell them that it couldn’t be done. Such is the case with the GoPro Hero 9 Black, the newest device from the company that packs in…

If you’re the kind of person that writes a lot then you probably use Google Drive. If you, for some bizarre reason, don’t have Google Drive then you should really get on that. It’s free, efficient and offers as much storage as you’d realistically need for storing loads of documents on the cloud. Yet, like most apps that work in the cloud, it can be a little annoying to delete files you no longer need. They’ll end up in your “Trash” where they’ll sit and continue to take up space until you remember to delete everything in that specific folder. I suppose…

There are two things nearly every person in the world has in their possession. One of those is a unique set of fingerprints and the other is the WhatsApp Desktop client. Well, at least the first half of that last sentence is true. While we might all have fingerprints, some of us have been slow on adopting the desktop version of WhatsApp, a form of the app which means that escaping people constantly sending you text messages is even more difficult! While the desktop app is functionally identical to the mobile app, there are some key differences, particularly in how…

Smartwatches are so five years ago. What ever happened to the idea of “fashionable, yet functional”? Sure, you can have all that technology strapped to your wrist but that requires you to, you know, actually look down at your wrist. I thought the promise of technology was that I didn’t need to do anything so that I could one day end up like one of those human lumps chained to a chair in Wall-E. How do we do that? Well, we insert technology directly into my eyes. Or maybe nothing as drastic as that. Probably just a few centimeters away from my eyes…

Okay, so we’ve already covered the price of the PlayStation 5 this morning so this post isn’t about that. Coming in at R12,000 for the base model and R10,000 for the Digital Edition and launching locally on 19 November, those are numbers we only found out after Sony’s digital showcase. What about everything else that was announced last night? Sony dropped a load of great trailers for upcoming games and services all coming to the PS5 and despite some weird messaging and communication hurdles, we’re as excited for Sony’s next gen console as anyone else. So let’s walk through all the…

We’re finally here, folks! Sony has come to party, arms laden full of gifts and they’re not shy about who gets them! Following Sony’s digital showcase last night, we finally have a solid idea of what we can expect to pay for the next-gen console it feels like most people are actually excited for. That might be speaking without properly delving into the stats but South Africa has historically been a very PlayStation focused country so it seems fair to say that most people are getting very excited about the PlayStation 5 and for good reason! We’ll get into everything Sony showed…

You know we’re starting to reach a saturation point when it comes to subscription services when Apple announces that it’s providing another subscription service for the sole reason of keeping all of your other subscription services in line. It’s dumb, ridiculous and very much an Apple idea but at the same time, creating all these different services and then providing a way for users to simplify the process… look, that’s clever. I think I’ve got ahead of myself. For those of you who didn’t watch Apple’s event last night one of the big announcements was the launch of Apple One, a service…

Get on your…exercise board thing and strap an Apple Watch to your wrist because we’re about to do some fitness! That’s right, Apple announced last night that it’s making fitness easier for everyone that wants to pay them some money to subscribe to Apple Fitness Plus, a service designed by gym bunnies, for gym bunnies. While fitness features have been on the nearly every other Apple Watch released in the year’s prior, Fitness Plus is bigger and better in every way, said an Apple enthusiast on a forum at some point last night, I’m sure. Okay, maybe I’m being mean.…
