Arguably one of the best marketing techniques implemented by the likes of Lindt and ice cream stores is the distribution of free samples. There’s nothing more satisfying than walking through the mall and you see that tray of free Lindt chocolate samples fast approaching. So it makes sense for top tech companies like Netflix to implement the same strategy. Only this time it’s with original shows.
Netflix is rolling out a new experimental feature that’ll allow anyone without a Netflix subscription to watch selected Netflix Original shows or movies without paying a cent. What’s the catch? You really only have access to a finite amount of content, most of which is pretty old.
Some of the content you can watch without a subscription includes Stranger Things, Murder Mystery, Élite, Boss Baby: Back in Business, Bird Box, When They See Us, Love Is Blind, The Two Popes, Our Planet, and Grace and Frankie. While access to shows such as Stranger Things and When They See Us are restricted to the first episode, movies like The Two Popes and Murder Mystery are available to stream in full length for free.
To make it as easy as possible for you, just head to this page Netflix has set up specifically to stream some of the shows for free. The thing is, not everyone has the cash to subscribe and then decide whether they like it or not. But also remember that Netflix does offer a month trial, in which you can check out the full catalogue without any ads or restrictions before you start paying.
The only other catch is that the content streamed through this free portal will show a short Netflix ad before playing the episode, but you’ll luckily have the option to skip through it at the click of a button.
