There aren’t many surprises left for the Galaxy S26 FE. That can only mean Samsung is about to either host an event or issue a press release. Turns out, it’s the former. The South Korean company has set the date for its Galaxy Event August 2026. If you’re free on 27 August, you can tune into Samsung’s latest reveal.
The company is cagey on its announcement page, but the device is obvious. Unless Samsung launches an all-new smartphone category, there’s only the S26 FE left to announce.

Specifically, it’s the “newest addition to the Galaxy S26 family,” which Samsung says is “purposefully designed to bring the core Galaxy S26 experiences from camera to AI, along with the latest One UI.” The brief teaser video (above) just reinforces the changes we can expect over the Galaxy S25 FE. It looks like the camera and AI upgrades are headlining this one. Even then, it may be that these changes are mostly via software update.
Based on what Stuff has heard so far, that’s likely entirely accurate. The two smartphone lineups aren’t set to be substantially different at all, at least on a hardware level. Buyers could pick one of these up for the minor processor upgrade — the RAM, storage, display, and even the camera layout are all reportedly unchanged — or buy last year’s phone (at a reduced price) and wait for the software update that’ll make the two almost indistinguishable.
Of course, Samsung hopes you don’t take that route. If there are any surprises, we’ll see them when Galaxy Event August 2026 kicks off. Here in SA, that’ll be at 14h00 on 26 August.
