Eschewing the company’s usually rigid schedule, Samsung has announced its next Unpacked event – but not the one you expected. The South Korean outfit typically likes to dominate the news cycle in early January before returning in July with a look at what’s next for its foldable devices and smartwatches. This… isn’t that. Instead, Samsung is hosting a virtual Unpacked event on 13 May to finally give the long-awaited Galaxy S25 Edge a chance to shine.
Samsung’s continually edging
The event will be streamed on Samsung’s newsroom, its website, and the company’s official YouTube channel. Whether you’ll still be cogniscent of the stream is entirely up to you. Samsung has announced that proceedings will kick off at 09h00 KST, meaning interested Saffas will need to be up at 02h00 on the morning of 13 May.
If that’s you, we’ve embedded the official livestream in this article below to make finding it as simple as possible.
Apart from calling the S25 Edge “a powerful AI companion and an engineering marvel,” Samsung is holding most of the big reveals close to its chest, saving them for the official Unpacked livestream. No matter, we’ve already got a general idea of what to expect from what is supposedly Samsung’s “slimmest Galaxy S Series ever.”
Those outlets lucky enough to go hands-on with the device back in January revealed that the S25 Edge most resembles the flagship Galaxy S25 Series in the front, foregoing the curved edges that many expected and sticking with the tried-and-true flat display we’ve become accustomed to. Most of the changes reside on the rear, where you’ll find two shooters instead of the usual three, one of which is a 200MP wide lens.

That’s all been done to keep the device as slim as possible. Official measurements are still under lock and key, but recent leaks from WinFuture (via Android Authority) reckon the device will turn up wearing a glass front and back, and measure in at 5.85mm. That’s on top of the 6.7in 3,120 x 1,440 AMOLED panel capable of hitting 120Hz. Expect battery life to take a dip, too, to accommodate Samsung’s slim dreams with a 3,900mAh battery.
Tucked beneath the titanium chassis is expected to be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, the same found in the S25 family. As far as RAM goes, the device will feature 12GB of RAM with a choice of 256/512GB storage. There will not be a 1TB model.
