Eskom has announced the latest load shedding schedule, and they’ve given us a glimpse of how much electricity we won’t be getting this week. Remember, this could change at any point. Generators trip and coal gets wet sometimes. We’re moving down the stages, though we’re not sure if it’s worth celebrating or if we should be grateful to plan our week in the dark.
Tuesday
Eskom says Stage 4 load shedding will continue until midnight on Tuesday, and then they’ll move us to Stage 2 from Wednesday at midnight until 5 am.
Wednesday
Just when we were getting excited about the massive drop from Stage 4 to stage 2, they’ll then swing us back to Stage 3 on Wednesday afternoon at 4 pm and we’ll stay there until midnight.
Thursday
After what seems like a bit of a break, Eskom will bring us back to Stage 3 at 4 pm on Thursday until midnight again.

Friday
Is this becoming a pattern? We’ll get another break from Thursday at midnight and then it starts again at 4 pm. We’ll be on Stage 2 from 4 pm on Friday until midnight.
The weekend?
We don’t know what’ll happen over the weekend and we doubt that Eskom has that information either. We’ll have to wait and see…in the dark probably. They even made a table for us, so we know exactly which stage we’re on. So thoughtful.
