Stream Wimbledon 2021 free from anywhere – here’s how

Wimbledon

The world’s premier tennis tournament is back to make us feel ever-so-slightly more normal again. London is gearing up for Wimbledon 2021, complete with the players you’d expect to see there. We’re not a sporty bunch but when we see that the world’s biggest tennis tourney is being streamed live for free across countries, we’re there.

It looks like Wimbledon 2021 will be free to stream across a variety of platforms (both official and not-so-official). In the UK, of course, it’ll be accessible on BBC’s iPlayer. Zoom out and you’ll be able to access live-streamed matches on ESPN’s channels. While not officially available in South Africa, hopping on a VPN is a quick and easy method to access live streams on channels like BBC iPlayer, 9Now (Australia) and ESPN.

This year we’ll see seven-time champion Serena Williams, 39, battle it out for that 24th Grand Slam singles title. Then there’s eight-time winner Roger Federer defending his title. It’s set to be a tournament of note.

“Novak Djokovic is the favourite and looks unstoppable, though Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev and Dominic Thiem are best placed to challenge the Serb. Predicting the women’s championship is a fool’s errand, and there’s no shortage of contenders, including world No. 1 Ashleigh Barty, French Open champion Barbora Krejcikova and rising stars Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff,” reports TechRadar, which, being British, clearly has more in-depth knowledge about the game.

Here’s how to live stream Wimbledon 2021

Fire up your trusty VPN, and jump onto a server in either the US (ESPN) or the UK (BBC iPlayer). This method will set your IP address as originating from that location, allowing you to access streaming services in that region while the VPN is active.
