Rumour has it, Apple’s planning a foldable iPhone

Apple’s been lagging behind slightly on major new technologies in the smartphone sector as of late (it’s still missing the in-display fingerprint sensor, for example). But new reports indicate that the company will develop an iPhone featuring a foldable display in 2023.

One of the most trusted Apple analysts, Ming-Chi Kuo, revealed in a note to investors that Apple will launch an 8in QHD+ flexible OLED foldable i-device in two years. While the iFold(?) is currently just an inkling in developers’ eyes, Kup predicts that it will be the major competitor in the foldable market of its time. He believes Apple will ship 15 to 20 million foldable iPhones in 2023. according to his predictions. “We predict that foldable devices will blur the product segmentations between smartphones, tablets, and laptops in the future. With its cross-product ecosystems and hardware design advantages, Apple will be the biggest winner in the new foldable device trend,” Kuo says.

While it all sounds admirable, foldable devices have struggled to enter a market that is sceptical of investing in overpriced tech that may not be worth the hype. One thing we know for sure, is that Apple puts out quality devices, even if it takes a while for them to catch on.

This is the way: You need these Baby Yoda sneakers

We all know that while Baby Yoda’s not The Child’s real name, that’s what we’re going to call the wise, young, tiny alien creature. And while we’re still saving up for the absolutely awesome Baby Yoda Lego kit, there may be a small space in our shoe rack for these Baby Yoda-themed sneakers.

While it doesn’t look like these originated in a particular shoe brand’s warehouse, they look detailed. Of course, there’s just as much you can draw from a picture, they may be quality or they may not. All we can say is: They look absolutely worth owning if you’re a true Mandalorian.  According to the site they’re listed on, these are officially licenced from Disney (that’s… not easy to do). “These officially licensed ‘The Child’ Shoes from Star Wars: The Mandalorian may be the find you’ve been hunting for!” the site details.

They’re available on a site called ‘fun.com’, and cost $40 for a pair. They’ll only be in stock by end of April, apparently, and shipping to a remote destination like South Africa may take an additional few months, so get that pre-order in if you’re keen.

Check out the new trailer for Rick and Morty: Season 5

We at Stuff are major fans of Adult Swim’s excellent Rick and Morty series. Equal parts zany, insane, thoughtful and hilarious it’s up there as one of the best series currently running on our televisions. We’ve been without the multiverse jumping scientist for a while now but never you fear, because the show is back in June and we have a brand new trailer to set the tone of what to expect. Put it this way, there’s way more Voltron in this than we would have expected. You can watch the trailer right here!

The trailer also points out that we can expect the show to drop on 20 June over in the States so expect to arrive on Showmax on either the same day or the day afterwards. When Season 5 launches, it’ll have been roughly a year since Season 4 ended and that rabid fanbase has been craving new content thanks to the weird, several-month split in the previous season. Let’s hope all those folks who can’t get enough of Rick and Morty will be satisfied with what’s on offer.

You should be able to drill a hole in your Apple AirTag instead of purchasing a separate accessory

The Apple AirTags are cool and all but you know what sucks about them? The fact that it doesn’t come with some kind of keyring so that, you know, you can actually attach it to stuff. Of course, Apple wants you to pay extra for an accessory that will allow that kind of keyring support… or you could just drill your own. The team at iFixit have discovered that is indeed possible to make your own keyring hole without messing up the device and from the sounds of things, it’s rather easy. The only thing you’ll need is a drill and a 1/16 drill bit.

You’ll need to first remove the battery of the AirTag and look for one of the three notches between the circuit board and antenna shield. Then you’ll carefully need to drill through the notch but not go so far as the metal clips that hold down the battery cover. Then you should be able to feed something through the hole and hey, you’ve got yourself a makeshift keyring! It goes without saying though: DON’T TRY THIS IF YOU’RE UNSURE ABOUT ANYTHING. You ain’t talking to us if you mess it up, so practice your DIY handwork with caution!
