If you’re used to getting your Xiaomi handsets from Mobile in Africa, then we may have just seen your next handset. MiA tends to be rather fond of the Redmi range of devices and Xiaomi’s new Redmi Note 10 — due to be unveiled later this week — has turned up to the party a little early.
Taking Note of the details
The handset’s specifics are mostly up for grabs, thanks to several leaks (one of which has since been deleted). The Note 10’s set to land with a 6.43in Super AMOLED display with a single hole-punch camera up front. Remember when we all thought those were a silly idea?
Processor and other internal info were revealed as well. There’s an 11nm Snapdragon 678 running the show, at an overclocked 2.2GHz for the main dual-core. The 5,000mAh battery will support 33W fast charging, the first time the base Note from Xiaomi has offered this particular speed. We’ve got no doubt that there’s a heftier Redmi Note 10 Pro (and possibly a Pro Max) waiting in the wings but the details on that one will likely have to wait until 4 March to be explored.
The Redmi Note 10 is set to be announced (officially) this week which, if patterns remain constant, means we’re likely to see it in South Africa around August 2021.
