In This Issue – The Gadget Awards (February-March 2021) Issue
Brett Venter
We’re starting off the first complete issue of Stuff Magazine for 2021 with a glance back at the very best of the past year. Our annual Gadget Awards contenders, nominees and winners are all front and centre in the February-March 2021 of Stuff. As hectic as 2020 was, there was an awful lot of very impressive tech on offer. Picking the best of the best wasn’t easy but we went and did it — even if we may have farmed outa few choices to our favourite people — Stuff‘s readers.
You can also look forward to a collection of recommendations from Stuff publisher Toby Shapshak. The Stuff team spent much of 2020 working from home, arranging very effective home offices on extremely short notice. In the current issue, we detail the hardware we used to make it seem almost like we were in the same room together, as well as the tech we used to improve our efficiency in a very distracting environment — a room where Netflix and games consoles are just… sitting there, doing nothing.
It’s not all sitting about — by now, February (and the reality of the year that is 2021) is setting in and your exercise ambitions might be taking a little strain. We totally get it, and we’re here for you. Which is why we’ve got a collection of gear and gadgets to keep you working out in safety during this ongoing… thingy. Whether you’re planning on maxing out your home gym, spending time hiking far away from other humans or pounding the pavement (while being socially distant), we’ve got the kit you need to continue turning that flab to fab.
And there’s plenty more where that came from. We check out a collection of stabilised binoculars, from ‘Didn’t actually need stabilising’ to ‘I didn’t need that kidney anyway’. If sitting in one place and looking very closely at an interesting species of South African bird- or wild-life is your thing, you’ll want to have one of these at your disposal. It’s one thing to steady ’em by hand but flicking a switch and having a smooth image just… hovering in front of your orbs is an experience in itself. Check them out in the February-March 2021 issue of Stuff.
There is, always, more to look forward than just what we’ve listed here. We’ve got more tests than you can shake a shaky thing at, a look at Samsung’s latest excellent smartphones, Apple’s amazing-sounding over-ears, a chair that you’ll never want to lift your butt-end out of, and a look back at the best (and perhaps oddest) of CES 2021.
