We always hate to be the bearer of bad news but technically it’s Eskom that comes bearing ill tidings. As always, we regret to inform you that load shedding is back from 10 pm tonight, but don’t fall apart just yet because it’s only sticking around to 5 am tomorrow morning. So not a long period without power but you should probably ensure all your frozen foods are good to keep overnight. Oh, and maybe bring a phone charger to the office tomorrow.
#JoburgUpdates#loadshedding Stage 2 to be implemented from 22:00 tonight until 05:00.
City Power customers are urged to check @CityPowerJhb for updated schedules & regular updates. ^DR

At least this load shedding won’t last too long…
Eskom has stated that this bout of load shedding is to help “replenish emergency generation reserves” which are currently running low. Strange that would be the case given we just went through a weekend of load shedding but at this point who actually knows what’s going on at Eskom, right?
While you’ll only be without power for tonight, don’t expect it to be the last incidence of it. Given the way things are going, we can expect intermittent load shedding for the next couple of months so maybe starts stocking up on flasks and blankets. If you’re looking to maybe do something with your evening, try checking out these apps to pass the time. Or if you’re fancy, maybe you want to keep the Wi-Fi on? Don’t worry, we’ve got a guide for that too. It never hurts to be prepared.
