If your Cyberpunk 2077 save file is too big, you might lose it
Another week, another bit of news regarding CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 being an absolute mess. The game was released in such a poor state that Sony recently pulled the game from its PlayStation Store, while offering refunds to anyone who wanted one. One would hope that would be the final notch but unfortunately, the situation just gets worse. If your save file for the game exceeds 8MB then you have a pretty good chance of losing everything. Which is not what you want in a 60+ hour game.
No-one know why save files are dying when they hit 8MB but they very clearly are as several users have complained about the problem on Reddit and CDPR’s forums. The developer is aware of the problem and has stated that in order to avoid the problem players should, “keep a lower amount of items and crafting materials.” Considering crafting powerful items and keeping them in storage is a fairly substantial part of the game, this really does not seem good enough. You could always use an older save if your main becomes corrupted but, let’s be real, no-one wants to actually have to do that.

You’ll be able to listen to Queen Elizabeth’s Christmas Day speech through Alexa
Amazon’s Alexa is a handy little assist that many people have welcomed into their lives to help with a wide assortment of tasks. These include, but aren’t limited too, setting alarms, gathering the top news stories of the day and listening to Queen Liz talk about 2020. The annual Christmas Day speech delivered by Queen Elizabeth will be accessible through Alexa for the first time, and you don’t even need to be in the UK to use it.
All you’ll need to do is say, “Alexa, play the Queen’s Christmas Day message” and your digital helper will take it away. Ironically named (for this situation) Eric King said, “After a challenging year, millions of people from across the Commonwealth will be eagerly awaiting Her Majesty the Queen’s message on Christmas Day. By creating this world-first innovation, just as we did in 2012 with the release of the Queen’s Christmas speech on Kindle, we hope that even more people will be able to enjoy the uplifting words of Her Majesty.” There’ll probably be a good chunk of her speech dedicated to the pandemic, so if you’re tired of that topic (as most people are) then maybe give this command a skip.

Sony launches Gastronomy Flagship Project to better the world’s cooking
This seems like a strange thing to focus an AI project on but given how monstrous foodie culture has become in recent years, it certainly makes sense. The Gastronomy Flagship Project is a program launched by Sony AI to help chefs and culinary artists create new foods and flavours for anyone that enjoys that kind of Instagram content. The AI will work along three different approaches that will unite to make the lives of chefs much easier: recipe creation, community collaboration for chefs around the world and, eventually, an actual robot that uses AI to help handle things around the kitchen. It’s like The Jetsons!
A post on the Sony AI website said of the initiative, “Sony AI has set “gastronomy” as its flagship theme for new technical and business exploration. With the aim of enhancing the creativity and techniques of chefs around the world, the Gastronomy Flagship Project consists of the research and development of an AI application for new recipe creation, a robotics solution that can assist chefs in their cooking process, and a community co-creation initiative that will serve as a foundation to these activities.” Can’t wait to take cooking lessons from Jamie Oliver and his side kick Robotiver!

Watch the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto give a tour around Super Nintendo World
Who could be a better tour guide of Japan’s new Super Nintendo world theme park than the creator of Super Mario himself, Shigeru Miyamoto. To get everyone even more hyped than they already are, Nintendo dropped a trailer for the new theme park which saw Miyamoto-san walking through the park and highlighting everything from the 1-UP Factory giftshop to a restaurant run by Toad and all his mushroom friends! He also showed off some of the park’s interactive elements all accomplished through a nifty little wristband (called the Power-Up Band).
It was recently announced that Super Nintendo World will finally be opening its gates to the public on 4 February, 2021. This is hopefully still the case, unless the grand opening is delayed due the pandemic (here’s hoping that’s not the case) but in the interim, it’s still pretty cool to see Miyamoto-san enjoying the life-sized, real adaptions of his life’s accomplishments.
