There aren’t many things in life that get us as excited as unboxing a brand new smartphone. It doesn’t really matter what brand it’s from. But this one is from Xiaomi, a fairly new entry into the SA market, but is definitely not one to scoff at.
The Redmi Note 9s launches in South Africa today and features stellar specs at a decent price. If you’re bargaining on a sub-R8k smartphone being a powerhouse — this one might just be it. There are two versions of the Redmi Note 9s, one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage capacity and a 6GB RAM version that comes with 128GB of storage. Given the latter has more space and is obviously more powerful than the former, you can expect it to cost a little more, but that’s pretty standard stuff. The 64GB version sells for R5,400 while the 128GB version is going for R6,000. The extra R600 is definitely worth it for the spec bump.
Here’s our first look at the Redmi Note 9s in the video above. We had to let the device sit for a bit to do an update after unboxing it, but we’ll have a full review up quicker than you can figure out how to say ‘Xiaomi’ properly. So keep an eye out.
