We might never get our hands on Apple’s ambitious AirPower charger but Mophie’s gone and made the next best thing. The accessories-maker has come out with its own 3-in-1 wireless charging pad. The only downside? It’s a little less smart than the AirPower was supposed to be.

That said, you’ll still be able to charge your iPhone along with AirPods and an Apple Watch. You just won’t be able to place them everywhere on the mat. The 7.5W charging mat will let you charge Qi-enabled devices, meaning that you don’t absolutely have to charge an iPhone… but Apple-heads are definitely the target market.
But, in typical Apple fashion, it’ll cost you. About $140, or about R2,125, if you want to charge three Apple devices at once.
The Mophie 3-in-1 wireless charging pad is available from Apple and will actually let you fulfil your AirPower ambitions. Sort of. If you want one, though, you’ll need to order directly from Apple. We’re keeping an eye out for it turning up via Apple’s local stores as well.
