The Sega Genesis Mini will be launching worldwide in September
Nostalgic fans will have a chance to go back to pre-PlayStation days soon. Sega has announced that its own miniature retro console will go on sale a little later this year. The Sega Genesis Mini will launch from 19 September, according to Kotaku, and the tiny little console will ship with some 40 games. The whole list hasn’t been announced and it seems that the Japanese, European (which we’re most likely to get), and American versions might be a little different. There are some games confirmed for the Japanese release and a partial list for the American one — based on the latter, the Genesis Mini may just be worth your cash.

And now, Shelley the Self-Driving Audi makes us all look bad on a racetrack
Those self-driving cars? Yeah, those are getting better and better by the day. We’ll let you decide just how much better by checking out what Shelley, the self-driving Audi put together by a team at Stanford University, can do on the track. Their goal is to make a self-driving vehicle that can move faster without putting people at risk. To that end, they’re pushing Shelley to speeds of close to 200km/h on a track. Our goal is to watch Shelly take to the track whilst trying not to wince every time the augmented Audi hits a corner at speed. Watch the video of Shelly’s performance at the link below.
DC’s streaming service is getting a live-action Swamp Thing come 31 May
If you don’t have your own streaming service these days, you’re nothing. Apparently. Even DC has its own video streaming storefront and they’re stocking it with more original content. The next addition? Swamp Thing, a live-action take of the nature-loving monster with a dislike of humans. We can’t really fault him on that one, either. The series looks to be a straight look at the Swamp Thing’s origins, at least at first. Where it goes from there is uncertain but we’ll be very, very annoyed if Swamp Thing doesn’t get into an argument with John Constantine (played by Matt Ryan, thanks) at some point. Sadly, the service doesn’t seem to be available in SA at the moment so… yeah. Now, we wait.

Valve launching its own VR headset, called Valve Index, this May
Up till now, we’ve mentally attached the HTC Vive to Valve’s PC gaming platform Steam. Soon Valve’s going to have its own branding on its own virtual reality hardware, though. The company is set to introduce a little something called the Valve Index. There are no official details out there just yet but Valve is expected to be offering a 135° field of view (FOV) for its VR gear, compared to the 110° FOV seen in the Vive and Facebook’s Oculus headset. There are a couple of other hints seen in the teaser image above. There’s a slider, presumably to set interpupillary distance and a couple of outer sensors. Hopefully, we’ll be able to dispense with base-stations and wiring sensors around the room in order to use Valve’s hardware effectively. We’ll keep both eyes on this one before we’re allowed to get both eyes in this one.
