MWC has delivered some weird and wonderful mobile tech so far and LG has announced the G8 ThinQ that can read your palms. You read that right.
LG decided to announce a trio of devices ahead of Mobile World Congress 2019 (MWC), and it looks like three mid-rangers with some solid specs.
In this week's Light Start, we've got a folding smartphone as well as a lack of one, Samsung stops making Blu-ray players, and a Tolkien documentary series.
So much for speculative. LG, contrary to what the company's Ken Hong had to say a few weeks back, has revealed that it's indeed chucking the speaker in the upcoming G8 ThinQ. Except 'chucking' is the wrong term. LG's augmenting its internal speakers with something else. Something a little different.
When your opponents are as slick as LG's are, you've really got to pull out the stops and offer something unique if you're going to make consumers take notice. LG's tried hard with the awkwardly named V40 ThinQ, but the results are a mixed bag.
LG’s latest phablet, the V40 ThinQ, will go on sale in South Africa on 7 February with an impressively aggressive price point of R12,500. Vodacom will have the sole mandate for the device for the first quarter of this year. You’ll only be able to get the V40 in one colour, “Moroccan Blue”. Thankfully, it’s rather fetching, though. If you haven’t jumped onto the 4K bandwagon, your time might be running short. LG and Sony have taken some time at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to show off their spiffiest 8K TV sets. But, in contrast to the fact that that many pixels on a smaller screen is kinda pointless, all of these super-high res TVs are also pretty super-sized. As will be, we expect, their prices w...[Read More]
You know coffee pods, right? What about the recently announced cocktail pods? Well, now we have beer pods to add to the list, all thanks to LG and their forthcoming HomeBrew machine. The LG HomeBrew is an at-home beer maker that makes it easy to make your own craft brews without turning your guest bathroom into a miniature brewery. The Korean company will debut this amazing piece of tech at the Co...[Read More]
Recently Stuff took a look at LG’s smart speakers (you can catch that in the upcoming issue of the magazine), a range that carries the company’s XBOOM branding. Now there’s already something slightly newer on the horizon — the LG XBOOM AI ThinQ WK9. This is a smart speaker as well but the LG XBOOM AI ThinQ WK9 is slightly different from plain old audio tech. The WK9 contain...[Read More]
LG’s V40 ThinQ smartphone is a rumour no longer — the South Korean company has officially unveiled its five-camera handset, detailing all of the bits and pieces we can expect inside it — as well as giving us a fair look at what we can expect to see in the LG G8 when it’s announced. Back to the main show, though, the highlight of LG’s V40 ThinQ is obviously the camera ...[Read More]
