Today in Midrand, Johannesburg, LG officially opened its new offices and experience area. LG’s in for a few changes in the South African market. One of those changes is a move out of Germiston, a space the company had occupied for a substantial length of time, and a split for the company’s head offices and manufacturing division.

The City of Johannesburg has shut down its website and online services, reporting a cyber-attack following a series of ransom notes sent to the city. The ransom, sent by a group calling itself the Shadow Kill Hackers, is demanding 4.0 bitcoin from City of Joburg.

Microsoft has brought new Azure datacentres to South Africa, based in Cape Town and Johannesburg. The datacentres are the company’s “…first enterprise-grade datacenters in Africa”, and will be instrumental in connecting the country (and the continent) with Microsoft’s services.
