You'll often catch me dreaming of a Wind Waker remaster. Or sleeping. One of the two.

Apple has dropped the dramatics in favour of shoving those products it doesn’t feel are especially special, out the door. Yesterday, it revealed the iPhone 17e — a successor to the Fruit Company’s last crack at a lower-cost iPhone meant for the masses. The iPhone 17e hopes to wrangle similar customers, clinging to the same $600 price. Lest we forget that Apple took the opportunity to debut the ‘new’ iPad Air, this time powered by an M4 chipset. There’s not much to say about this one other than the usual bump to the processor under the hood, though Apple did…

Before, physically banking with GoTyme Bank, formerly known as TymeBank, meant visiting the nearest Pick n Pay and interacting with one of the bank’s little kiosks inside. Today, the bank announced new plans to roll out “dedicated Consumer Hubs” and pull all those old kiosks out of Pick n Pay by the end of the month. For good. It’s GoTyme for Pick n Pay This isn’t the bank going physical, it insists. Instead, GoTyme Bank has opted for a new “phytigal” model that will see its kiosks popping up in malls all around the country. The bank’s kiosks will live…

There’s a good reason the Honor Magic V6 has arrived only seven months after its predecessor, the Magic V5. We think. It’s something to do with Honor not having any big tricks this time, opting instead to focus on those core elements that make foldables less obviously attractive than something more traditional: battery and thickness. What magic is this? The rest is about the same, especially on the outside, where the unfolded 7.95in inner display stares back at you from the mostly untouched design. The same 50MP, 64MP telephoto, and 50MP ultra-wide camera setup lives on the back of the…

Lenovo folds under pressure Lenovo’s Legion Go is just one of the many handheld gamers out there attempting to cut down Nintendo’s rival handheld at the knees. It hasn’t quite got that far, but it’s certainly carved out a niche for itself in a cutthroat market. Now, it’s pushing the idea even further with the Legion Go Fold Concept, which doubles as a laptop. The word ‘concept’ is doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Lenovo managed to put all the components together in the right order to develop a working prototype of the PC/gaming console hybrid, which it will…

If you missed out on watching some of 2025’s best films — Sinners and Bugonia chief among them — in the theatre, Ster-Kinekor will let you correct that. Back by popular demand, the theatre chain has revived the ‘Oscar Buzz’ promotion that’ll see a handful of the ‘best’ films of 2025 return to cinemas this March. Bring War of the Worlds to the big screen, cowards While that’s cool enough on its own, Ster-Kinekor will only charge R100 a ticket — regardless of whether the film is screened in regular 2D or the bombastic IMAX. That R100 will also cover a small popcorn…

You may want to hoard as much petrol or diesel as your vehicle can muster before the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) officially adjusts South Africa’s petrol and diesel prices next week. The Central Energy Fund (CEF) has provided another batch of predictions (captured 26 February) that all but confirm a major fuel price hike was headed our way in March 2026. Not looking good for petrol… It’s worth noting that the CEF’s figures (see below) are not final and may change. The CEF, in conjunction with the DMRE, tracks the economic factors that influence fuel prices. It…

PC gamers have been well-fed these past few years, with Sony placing a higher importance on bringing its once-exclusive games over to the market — a few years after their initial release. According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, the Japanese conglomerate may be pulling away from this strategy, a move that could see fewer bid-budget single-player games like God of War Ragnarök and Spider-Man make the leap. Sony’s feeling anti-PC That doesn’t mean PC gamers would be left out in the cold entirely. Speaking on the Triple Click podcast, Schreier revealed that while single-player games may go back to being exclusive to the PlayStation ecosystem, Sony’s…

Further fuelling the rumours that Sony is secretly working on a handheld gaming console to rival the Nintendo Switch 2 comes the news that Sony reportedly got Gran Turismo 7 running on Nintendo’s latest console. That’s not because it’s hoping to port the game — at least, that’s now how insider and journalist Jeff Grub put it. We got GT7 on the Switch 2 before GTA VI Instead, he makes it sound like Sony was feeling purely experimental and having a laugh here. That’s to say, don’t get your hopes up to see GT7 on the Switch 2 anytime soon. But it does…

Now that Spotify technically offers lossless streaming, the platform has turned to new methods to attract paying customers (and to keep the current ones engaged). It’s doing so with the help of ‘Smart Reorder’, a new setting that’ll intelligently adjust your playlist’s tracks according to their beats per minute (BPM) and key. Lowkey, this beat slaps When Spotify first dropped off X, the AI DJ at our doorsteps, this was kind of what we were hoping for. Hell, even the streamer’s new mixing tools were a bit of a letdown for newbies. Letting something a little smarter take over the job is…

On Uber’s quest to become a little more three-dimensional, the e-hailing company has previewed its helicopter-like air taxis on its menu, joining its car, motorcycle, and boat services. It’s doing so with the help of Joby Aviation, a start-up responsible for building the machines, leaving Uber to gather customers via its app. Uber-cool taxis That shouldn’t be tricky for Uber Air, as the company is calling it. While not available to the public yet, Uber confirmed that the service would become available to residents in Dubai before the end of the year. Some folks managed to get a good look…
