There are more Samsung Galaxy Buds out there than we can count, and according to SamMobile, the South Korean company has more in the pipeline. These may deviate from the stem and wingtip designs that we’re used to, and even stray away from the new clip-ons reportedly in the works. Runners, you might want to listen up
Samsung’s on the run

If SamMobile is right — and it usually is — the company’s next pair of in-ears will involve a hook. That’ll make the buds wholly supportive of whatever activity you’ve got on, be it running or weightlifting. More so than the company’s other buds, anyway, which have a tendency to fall out of the ears with even the slightest jostle.
These are known as the “Buds Canal 5” internally, with SamMobile even unearthing what looks to be in-app illustrations of the buds. They look just like the rest of the hook-on sporty buds on shelves, packing flat ear hooks with an ear-tip at the other end. Whether they’ll offer a proper in-ear seal or something more open is unclear.

Whatever the case, they’re unlikely to match the quality delivered by the company’s latest Buds 4 Pro. Samsung’s already got that market on lock, leading us to believe these will offer a more affordable listening experience. They’ll still be premium — this is Samsung we’re talking about — but likely with a smaller emphasis on audio.
If you’re on the lookout for a new pair of running buds right now though, it’s probably best to look elsewhere. SamMobile‘s report doesn’t mention any sort of release date, specs, pricing, or even an official name. The early look at in-app renders is a good sign, but that’ll do nothing to make tomorrow’s run any easier, will it?
