At the beginning of October, Oppo launched the Find X10 Series in China. It didn’t take long before a global rollout was confirmed, though South Africa remained unsure of its place on the list. Until now. Oppo SA has confirmed that the Find X10 Pro Max, at least, is launching in November.

The most important details, like an exact date and pricing, are still to be determined. We’re still uncertain whether the more attainable Find X10 will enter the country. Members of the SA media have been invited to a launch event in mid-November, meaning the device will likely hit shelves soon after.
We don’t need official pricing to know that the Find X10 Pro Max won’t be cheap. Last year’s Find X9 Pro came to the country at R30,000. That price still hasn’t budged a year later. We can sort of see where Oppo is coming from. On top of rising component costs everywhere, the Find X10 Pro Max packs three 200MP shooters on the rear.

International buyers can choose either 12GB or 16GB of physical memory and up to 1TB of onboard storage. South Africa is unlikely to be quite so lucky, with official model specifications still under wraps. Often, we get one or two SKUs, if there’s a choice at all. MediaTek’s 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro chip handles the heavy lifting, while the 8,000mAh battery keeps it chugging along.
Oppo’s latest is a wholly glass affair, with an aluminium chassis holding it together. The glass front protects the 6.78in LTPO AMOLED (1,272 x 2,772), with a 144Hz refresh rate. It supports HDR10+ and tops out at 3,600 nits of brightness. We’re still awaiting local pricing — which will be revealed closer to or at the official launch.
