If you’re after pretty watch faces and high-end craftsmanship, but don’t have the money to slap a Garmin on your wrist, Coros makes a strong case for being the go-to number two. It takes sports and health tracking a little more seriously than the rest, and the new Coros Pace 4 Pro proves it.
Coros keeps Pace with Garmin
It’s repping a couple of big upgrades over the regular Pace 4, most notably its display. This is Coros’ biggest display ever, clocking in at 1.47in with a LTPO AMOLED panel and an improved 466×466 resolution. It’s plenty bright for middle-of-the-day workouts, hitting 3,500 nits without breaking a sweat.
Coros has also ditched the mineral glass of the Pace 4 for a coating of sapphire glass. There’s a titanium alloy for the bezel now, too, which amounts to an 11-gram increase in weight, totalling 43g with the nylon strap and 51g with the silicone attached. Coros has also bumped onboard storage to 32GB, up from 4GB.

The Pace 4 Pro does many of the same things the regular Pace 4 can. It’s still 5ATM water-resistant, but you’ll get Coros’ latest optical heart rate monitor, plus a multi-channel PPG sensor to boot. It’ll do all the health and sport tracking you’d expect, just for longer. It’ll go 21 days without a charge now, assuming regular use. You’ll have to source your own USB-C cable, though. Coros specifically mentions it doesn’t include one in the box.
Coros doesn’t typically drag its feet when it comes to bringing its watches to South Africa. While the Pace 4 Pro hasn’t gone on sale locally, we doubt it’ll be long. ‘Til then, we’re left guessing about the price. In the US, the wearable will set buyers back $450 — $200 more than the Pace 4. You might be holding out hope we’ll see a R7,300 price locally at the current conversion, but local pricing for the Pace 4 tells us it’ll land closer to R9,300.
