Fujifilm isn’t exactly known for its secrecy, and the pending launch of a sequel to the brilliant X-T5 is similarly unsurprising. Seeing the X-T6 out in the wild is still a shock, given that it already appears as one of a Vietnamese camera store’s listings.
The above link to FujifilmShop in Vietnam may not remain active forever. Lax attitude to secrets aside, the Japanese camera maker could well notice that folks are peering at something that’s not supposed to exist yet. Still, while it’s up, we’ve catalogued what is supposed to be coming down the pipe in September this year.
X-T6, see?
We say “supposed to be” because the story carrying this information, despite having some very detailed images of the upcoming X-T6, isn’t officially affiliated with Fujifilm. People on the internet are allowed to just… make things up, and generating convincing images of a product is trivial. Here’s one we made of the 2026 iPhone. Took about 30 seconds (which explains the obvious flaws). The point is, don’t always believe everything you see online.
On the other hand, this X-T6 information could be accurate. According to the listing, Fuji’s newest will feature a 40MP APS-C sensor, an upgraded X-Trans VI CMOS sensor, and one of the company’s X-Processor 6 units on board; all of the internal specs are believable.
A body weight of 526 grams, 8K video at 120fps, and consecutive shooting at 60fps are all within the realm of possibility. A claimed 5-point phase autofocus is also a sensible upgrade for the X-T6, and a fully-articulated LCD screen for settings and control would also be a nice touch. Pixel shift multishot would result in 200MP images, over 160MP for the previous generation, and 5-axis IBIS would dampen eight stops of shake from your poorly designed human hands.
Available details for Fuji’s X-T6 are entirely possible, but they could be just as convincingly faked by going up a digit on model and parts numbers. Do we think these are false details? Actually, no. But don’t lock these features and specs in your brain just yet. It’s just as possible that XCamera Vietnam is doing this for the increased web traffic.
