Oppo’s highest-end flagship phones are rare in South Africa, but hopefully the Chinese company will change that for the Find X9 Ultra. Rumours out of China suggest that Oppo’s newest — set for launch early in 2026 — will feature the most advanced camera zoom to hit mobile devices to date.
At least, that’s the word according to online leaks. The Ultra version of the Find X9 is supposed to sport three absolutely massive rear camera sensors, with the third splurging on 10x optical zoom at the same time.
Where to Find X9 Ultra
Two 200MP camera sensors are the headliners, though it’s not the first time we’ve heard of a Chinese company taking this step. The main Find X9 Ultra sensor, though, is a “super-large sensor main camera with light intake exceeding that of a one-inch sensor,” according to Digital Chat Station.
The other two cameras are supposedly a 200MP “periscope mid-telephoto’ and a 50MP telephoto with 10x optical zoom. That’s quite a large step to take, with most phones sticking to single-digit optical zooms and performing more extensive magnification with software assistance.
Digital Chat Station continues: “This setup is extremely aggressive, with the main camera, mid-telephoto lens, and super telephoto lens all offering lossless, high-quality focal lengths. The native focal length is extended to 230mm, and the high-quality focal length is extended to 460mm, leading the generation.”
The dude could have a point. We’ll have to see once Oppo makes this one official.
