There’s been some confusion concerning the Galaxy S26 range of phones from Samsung in recent months. Early reports suggested that the phone line would be delayed, along with the company’s first Unpacked of 2026. Then reports claimed that everything would launch on time. Now…
Yet another report, this one out of South Korea, reckons that “Samsung Electronics plans to hold a launch ceremony for the Galaxy S26 smartphone in February in the United States.” The folks at Yonhap News Agency are closer to the action than we are, so there’s probably at least some truth here.
When will we see the Galaxy S26?
The Yonhap report and others reckon that Samsung’s flagship phone lineup is coming sometime in February, with 25 February being reckoned as a possible launch date. The reason for the delay (assuming there actually is one) isn’t clear, but could be tied to production of the 2nm Exynos 2600 chipset that’s expected to feature in at least some models of the Galaxy S26.
The ‘delay’ is only a delay if considered in terms of recent years. Generally, Samsung trots out its first Unpacked in January, to allow the company to dominate the news cycle ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC). Head back in time just a few short years, and Samsung was holding its events far closer to MWC. Any delay in 2026 would just be a return to old habits for the South Korean tech maker.
At present, the timeline for the Galaxy S26 range is: An Unpacked event in the States on 25 February, with a physical launch sometime in March, after MWC 2026 has taken place. Or Samsung could stick to its recent January/February timeline, but the most recent info out of South Korea suggests otherwise. Either way, Stuff will be watching to see what, if anything, is new in the new year.
