Vivo SA has announced a new mid-range contender for the South African smartphone market. The V60 Lite is already available for R13,000 if you can’t wait for the reviews to surface, or on contracts through Vodacom and Cell C.
Vivo SA has positioned the V60 Lite as your next “fun partner”, with its main selling points being its style, entertainment capabilities, and its night photography smarts. That’s what Vivo is punting, at least. We’re more interested in some of the stand-out features.
Sit tight, here comes the V60 Lite

At the top of the stand-out feature list (at least for us) is the 6,500mAh battery and 90W FlashCharge. That’s bound to be enough juice for most folks, and the speedy charging will likely prove to be a boon when the battery runs low. If most of your battery life is siphoned by gaming, it’s worth mentioning that the V60 Lite supports bypass charging.
The next feature worth highlighting is the Sony IMX882 50MP camera sensor lodged in the rear. It’s paired with the company’s proprietary ‘AI Master Aura Light Portrait System’, which can change the colour tone of the phone’s flash to better match your environment.

There’s more AI sprinkled around the V60 Lite, with AI Imaging 3.0, AI Erase 3.0 and AI Photo Enhance all in attendance, if that’s your thing. Up front, you’ll find a 32MP camera nestled into the 6.77in 120Hz-capable AMOLED display. Internally, there’s a MediaTek Dimensity 7260-Turbo SoC (system-on-a-chip) doing the heavy lifting. It’s paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable ROM.
There are two colours to choose from: Elegant Black and Titanium Blue, and Vivo has even thrown in a free smartwatch with your purchase (stock dependent).
