Today, Huawei’s former sub-brand Honor announced the availability of its brand new wearable, the Honor Band 6, in the UAE. Interestingly, Huawei’s gearing up to launch its very own Huawei Band 6 in South Africa next week, according to the local event invite.
Rise of the Band 6s
The Honor Band 6 features a 1.47in AMOLED display — it’s reminiscent of the Huawei Watch Fit wearable launched last year. Of course, expect to see a wide range of health and fitness features, such as expected health monitoring and automatic exercise tracking. You’ll even get two-week battery life, and it’ll turn up in three colours: Meteorite Black, Sandstone Grey, and Coral Pink.
As with most smartwatches and trackers launched in the past year, the Honor Band 6 features an SpO2 sensor capable of reading a person’s blood oxygen level. Many older wearables launched with the sensor, with actual functionality only rolling out fairly recently.
Here you also get 24/7 real-time continuous heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking. Expect to see personalised suggestions to improve sleep, overall health and fitness. It’s also waterproof, being rated IP67, which makes it the ideal buddy to any underwater-dwellers.
This one’ll be available to purchase in the UAE as of 3 June, while Huawei’s planning the launch of its variation on the same day in South Africa. It’ll be interesting to see when (or if) we get Honor’s newest wearable in SA any time soon.
