SABC Plus is already treating the country to 34 free FIFA World Cup matches, and now it’s partnered up with Vodacom to make it a little bit better. Viewers without a stable Wi-Fi connection can get their kicks using mobile data. Not the overpriced stuff you’re used to. This time, Vodacom is selling dedicated World Cup data bundles.
In addition to all of SA’s matches, SABC Plus viewers will get access to a couple of other matches at no cost. Those include key knockout matches, including the final, taking place on Sunday, 19 July. Vodacom customers can “stream live the coverage of the tournament on the SABC Plus platform through specially reduced data rates…”
Vodacom’s on the ball
SABC announced the change on Sunday, unfortunately, after the country’s opening match against Mexico. It’s probably for the best you missed that one. Still, it’s better late than never. Customers can take advantage of the deals in time for Bafana Bafana’s second challenge against Czechia, kicking off at 18h00 SAST on Thursday, 18 June.
“By leveraging Vodacom’s expansive leadership network, SABC Plus users can now access a wide range of affordable data offerings, ensuring they stay connected to every match, highlight, and moment of the action, even while on the go,” SABC Plus wrote.
